Lsu>usc

  1. Lsu>usc

After last nights complete domination of the #8 VT, I am completely confident in claiming LSU as the best team in college football. Let's discuss.
    1. LSU's defense will shutdown any offense, including the best the PAC-10 has
    to offer
    2. USC looked rather average against the Vandals of Idaho.
    3. LSU's offense/speed against a really good tech defense was undeniable.
    4. The national championship will be played in N.O., essentially making it a
home game for LSU should they make it.
I really think LSU should SC in the polls now, but we'll probably have to wait untill Nebraska, Cal or Oregon slaps them backwards. Let the lovin' commence.

  2. It's too early to say. USC was coasting versus the Vandals, don't read too much into it, they have done this in past years then blown teams away in the Big Games.

Wait till they play in the PAC, and likewise on the Tigers, as hot as they looked last night, let's see them versus the other SEC powers.

  3. "After last nights complete domination of the #8 VT, I am completely confident in claiming" that preseason rankings are horse**** and should be done away with. Let's start ranking teams after week 5 or 6.

  9. As it stands now, UF_LSU looks like The SEC title game to be played twice.

Florida will get more of a tuneup than LSU versus Tennessee overall, Auburn's D and the Ol Miss O but as of now, gotta go with the Tigers at home, but again, too early to call.

Also a greater potential for key injuries for Florida.

I agree in that there could very well be a sequel to this game.....it's that the case i'd rather take the sec champ game. I think it's going to be a kick azz game....can't wait!

  13. LSU still has to overcome Les Miles LSU is a hell of a team but I think these would be great discussions 5-6 weeks from now . . . maybe Cal puts the hurt on USC this year and we end up in the Nat'l Title

  14. Let's see how well the Bears handle the Ducks at Autzen, IW, then we'll talk.

No doubt about it. UCLA looks pretty good and I wouldn't sleep on Arizona State either I was pissed about Cal letting Colorado State back in the game after leading 34-14 in the fourth quarter. They won 34-28 and I think they lack a little bit of a killer instinct on defense at this point.

  16. SC sure made a big statement last night. Up 42-10 on Nebraska before garbage time began.

Hope SC and LSU go undefeated... just because they weren't able to play each other a few years ago.

And UCLA stunk it up. They're gonna lose 6 games this year.

  17. UCLA getting blown out 44-6 at Utah was a surprise. The PAC-10 will get tougher then Utah so we'll see how they do. This is either an aberration or a sign of things to come for UCLA. Oregon is looking pretty good and they'll give USC some fits.

  18. I live in Louisiana - I'm not sure I want to listen to all the SC crap the LSU people spew if they play in the Sugar Bowl.

I mean, really now. It's not like SC was given a national title on some bogus flag.
The teams didn't even play in 2003.

And - I've always said the AP Poll counts too.

I'm already preparing myself to have to listen to a bunch of crap. It would be better if LSU played anyone else.

I'll root for a Cal upset of SC.
Or UF and LSU beating up on each other (i.e. they both lose once) might knock the SEC champ out of the Sugar Bowl.

I'm with you on Cal upsetting USC

BTW, our 49ers are 2-0 for the first time since 1998 ! I still think Mike Nolan was too conservative with the passing game but thank God for Frank Gore. He played with a heavy heart and came through in the clutch.

Funny how a year ago so many people still unsure about Les. Now there are rumors floating around about a Michigan opening, and I can't say we really want him to leave. You can't argue against his record in the SEC. UF vs LSU may be the 2 best teams we'll see on the field at the same time.

I just thought he could have done a lot more with the talent he had.

  22. Wow whoever started this thread looks pretty fickin' smart now!

Yeah, but if Stanford can beat USC, a 38 point favorite coming in with a 35 win home streak, what does that say about someone's chances of unseating LSU?

If the Gators get to rematch the Tigers in Atlanta, the outcome could easily go the other way.

  25. I don't see any undefeated teams in 1-A this year.

Too much parity and too many top teams having down games.

Agree with a rematch. That game was changed w/ Tebow's pick. LSU had a fork nearly all the way in at that point.

Though - I do think the Cocks present a tougher matchup than the Gates. Spurrier is the best coach in the SEC. Period.
As the redshirt QB, Smelley, gets more reps their offense will get better. Just a matter of having their best defensive player if they play LSU again (Jarvis Brinkely - injured early in the game in BR).

Lookin' a little smarter then me at the moment right about now

Bad week for the PAC-10. UCLA lost to the Cryin' Irish and the Trojans got knocked off their high horse by sorry a$$ Stanford, at home, with Stanford's BACKUP QB ! Jim Harbaugh might have bought himself another year with that win.

LSU is the clear cut #1 right now. It's crazy how the top-10 has changed in a 2 week span. Many more changes will occur IMO, I just hope it doesn't happen to my Bears

    10/13 Kentucky.

    Modern Parity, any given Saturday.

I know football from a players standpoint better than most, and still I'm unable to predict what any given team will do on any given week, and that is why I love College Football as a fan, it's spirit driven, not the more predictable professional chops of the League.

  28. And just like that, OSU is back to the #1 ranking.

    I concur.

IMO, South Florida should be #1, for the simple fact that their schedule is much more difficult, at least it has been. Oh well....

  31. Mich cracked the top 25!!!!!!!! Can't wait for Nov 17th!!

Agree. USF should be #1 - though they are in the BCS computers.

    True.

  34. I think USF has a strong chance of being unbeaten. I am an Auburn fan and couldn't believe that we had 5 turnovers against them, But in every one of their big games they have caused a **** load of turnovers. The teams that constistantly cause turnovers win championships

Edit: They have 21 takeaways in 6 games

  35. Just ****ing wow ! We can end up with a Boston College-USF title game or a combo of BC/USF vs. Ohio St. It's gonna be weird if we see BC or USF in the big one this year. Still savagely mad about Cal's loss. Stupid backup QB's
