8 Weeks to Cut then I Cruise

My 1 year wedding anniversary is coming up late October 26th and we plan to go on our first cruise. Now I have to make sure I look my best so its time to do a cut and stick to it. Not that I cannot control my eating, I freak out when I loose to much weight! Something about being around 178-185lbs just makes me comfortable. I want to look good hanging out around the pool or whatever we do so lets drop some fat and get lean.

My one true obstacle will be my wife's baking! She is becoming one of those cupcake/brownie/cake experiment ladies and it's hard not to try out the goods. Must have the will power and bravery to tell her no. :nervous:

Finaflex will be my majority supplement brand of choice throughout my training and fat loss but I use a few items from others as well. Love the people representing this company and so far the products have served me well. So well I have given samples to friends and co-workers so they to could give it a try and some have made purchases through NP.

I'll post pics of meals and log my training. Hopefully I'll get some nice tips along the way again. Today's starting weight was 184lb, I don't really have a target weight to drop down to though?! Let's just get to loosing some and not over complicate anything.

supprack.jpg

Here is a pic of my supplement rack. The basket one the 2nd shelf is smaller bottles of things like pills so what you do not see is the Active Multi, PX Black, and PCT Revolution all by FinaFlex. The bottom shelf has all my other Fina goodies. I have not opened that Stimul8 yet though, still scared of it.

I thought it would taste bad but to my surprise, it's just fine. Not delicious but it gets the job done.

I trained last night after work at about 1015pm till around 1130pm and forgot to pack something for a pre-workout pick up. A co-worker did a coffee run for several of us around 7pm, I'm sure it helped somewhat. My eyes were burning on the drive to the gym and I was not confident it would go well but like always, once you get in there something clicks and things manage to get done.

Training:
(Warmup) 8 mins on the stair-master then some stretching

Leg Extensions
70x15
85x15
100x15
115x15

Hammer Strength Linear Leg Press
338x15x4

30lb Kettle Bell Swings/Walking Lunges Super-Set
10/20x4

30lb Step Ups
10x2 per leg

Lat Pull Down
140x4

Chin Ups/Push Ups Super-Set
10x10x1
8x8x1
3x3x1

Cardio
10 mins max incline treadmill 2.5 mph
10 mins stair-master

Feeling tired this morning but not very sore. My legs are just fatigued and I feel like I need to rest but that isn't going to work so I better get over it. The BCAA/SAA before bed has been very consistent with keeping serious soreness away and improving recovery. I've also been using this PF3 from MAN out of curiosity but It's to new in the regimen to make an honest opinion of it.

Weighed in @ 176.6 this morning

Dinner last night was a turkey & ham sandwich on wheat plus that small bowl of brown rice and beef. Washed it down with my BCAA/SAA

Squeezed in a quick workout after morning chores and before work!

3 sets of 30 jumping jacks (warmup)

45 min circuit training that included the following

Bicep curls to failure
Overhead tricep extensions 20-12 reps
Body weight squats 20-12
Inverted Rows 10
Run to the end of my street and back home

After each set I took about a 1 minute rest and I believe there was 8 sets total burning approx 500-530 calories based on my heart rate monitor. Finally tried the Stimu8 before this workout and I'm still alive! Used about 3/4 scoop mixed with BCAA/SAA and all was good. I'm still kinda feeling it right now as I type this up.

Here goes my workout partners. The most consistent I've ever had. They never complain, always down to go, guard the garage while I'm lifting weights and they try kissing all over me anytime I'm doing something on the ground.

Saturday night 09.07.2013 I did not log my leg training. Nothing different than my last day but I should have waited a few days before I completed another leg session. For one reason or another I didn't want anything but water than night and did not use an amino supplement before or after the training. Woke up the next morning feeling a bit sore and then came yesterday morning and guess what? The damn DOMS got me! Live and learn! I took those two days off to rest and decided to get some upper body done this morning. Kept it simple...

Did the 3 minute pushup challenge again and completed 109. I think I'll start doing this more often, its fun for me. Used this as a warmup.

8 rounds of biceps curls, hammer curls, and narrow grip pushups to failure. No time for driving to the gym today, morning chores and various other home owning responsibilities needed to get done. My weight has stayed the same so the rest of the week I need to get serious and pay closer attention to the diet.

I found the bread at Sprouts. Maybe they have it where you live?

I hurt myself a few days back and haven't been working out and probably need another 2 or 3 days to heal up. I have some swelling behind my knee and down into my calf. Now I'm over compensating for that pain and causing other body parts to be sore. Its getting better and should be good to go by Monday.

Swelling came back today unfortunately making work very difficult and causing me to leave early today so I can come home and get off my feet. Weighed in this morning at 175lbs though! Eating clean and still loosing weight without getting any physical activity all week. I'll at least get in some sort of upper body training tomorrow because I'm going stir crazy not doing anything.

Hi N! Caught up on your log. Room in here for me? Nice looking volume in your workouts. Are you using that tub of BCAA? How do you like FF version? Good lifting to you.

That tub of BCAA gets used post workout typically mixed into my protein or my wife will mix it with her pre. The bitter taste makes the flavor or her pre less noticeable and she prefers that. The FF BCAA/SAA is my choice before bed and pre. I like the apple fusion but the Fruit Punch flavor is nasty. Most people don't mind the off taste of supplements tho and I will deal with it for the few seconds it takes to put it down. Apple flavor is good though, someone did a good job there.

I'll update this log about 2-3 days per week only until I'm either headed out for my Vacation or I reach a goal I feel is good enough. Finaflex is going to let me log Stimul8 so I'll shift my attention to that starting tomorrow.

meals lookin dandy as always -- on that bread tho, gotta say I am not a fan....#1 ingredient is added gluten, and heavy on the soy for construction, bleh not my kind of ingredients
you ever try Ezekiel bread nosh? flourless, gluten-free bread coming from solid carb sources/grains etc

I've never tried it but I see it all the time. I was looking for a low carb source while I cut weight so that bread caught my eye. Yesterday a few people at work asked me why I'm trying to get SKINNY! Grrrrrrrrrr. Anywayz, I didn't weigh in this morning and I'm just about done.

We decided on a trip to New Orleans instead of the cruise so the skinny stuff comes to an end. I still wanted to drop a few fat lbs though because when I get there I'm planning to eat the goodness that place is famous for. Can't wait to get myself a bowl of seafood gumbo!
