man, this diet is just gravy right now, immensely fun
180g carbs scheduled this day - on a low day (was 245 yesterday)
so this meal from awhile ago..just, wow
ground turkey breast with honey Dijon mustard, mesquite turkey slices, jasmine rice with 1/5 TBS butter, greens
the rice with butter was simply a gooey, sticky splendor, unfrigginreal
and then, saw this recipe in the AM newsletter today..these looked so good, figured I'd make some up and toss in fridge for post-prep time..i tweaked it a smidge to my own liking, inserting a metrx big colossal fudge brownie bar that I chopped up in little pieces instead of chocolate chips, and 1 banana instead of 2
actually, I think ima have one today in one of my feedings
per cookie: 147cals, 11.4g protein/17g carbs/5.5g fat

· 2 medium ripe bananas, mashed (used 1 large banana)
· 2 scoops (60g) whey protein powder, unflavoured & unsweetened (used 2 scoops concentrate/isolate hydrolysate mix, both vanilla)
· 1 cup quick oats (used old-fashioned oats)
· 2 tbsp peanut butter, unsalted & softened (used salted natty PB)
· 2 tbsp chocolate chips, mini (metrx big colossal brownie as noted)
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine all ingredients together adding chocolate chips the last. The batter consistency depends on how ripe are your bananas. It's OK if it's runny.
3. Spoon mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 12 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes on the cooling rack.
4. Store in the fridge for up to a couple of weeks or freeze in an air tight container for up to a month. The best way to defrost them is in a microwave. That way the moisture and softness is restored.
for this show, simply gotta go to new heights..pretty damn ecstatic right now, just focusing on finishing this thing out strong is all

soooo..just had that cookie with last meal, with 1/2c almond milk for dessert -- and I thought that rice earlier was a gooey splendor of an orgasm, dint have nothing on this..snag highly recommends!
main course was turkey breast on Ezekiel toast, green peppers, Dijon with chardonnay

will it detract from my appearance? well probably not, but it just goes against the grain of what I do and how I approach prep
even in real life, I always keep these minimal, but every once in awhile they are dew refreshing..love me some diet mountain code red, but I can't seem to find it anymore just regular version (will not do that crap)
water & some tea from here on out for me, some almond milk still in play till last 3 days
today was off-training day, did 30min LISS fasted state upon rising + 5min warm-up/cooldown
tomorrow begins the last 3 days of training for this prep, will be all wrapped up! I don't count glycogen depletion workouts next week, 80% usual intensity wih higher reps and aiming for the pump - that's not really training, that's playing
kinda feels good, knowing i'm getting close to completing this thing, and satisfied with all effort/approach in doing so
for the w/e, will be rolling with some HIIT sprints (20min) and LISS (20min), both SAT & SUN
this will be the first time I even thought about HIIT since I slightly tweaked my hammy ~7-8 (??) weeks ago, LISS eod has been doing me just fine..i want me a bit more separation/striation in the legs tho, and still need to tighten up the butt, so sprints it is

It's going to be awesome to see what another week, especially w/the added cardio and dietary tweaks will yield.
Will you be manipulating water as well or is there no need to?
Your day to day pics look like you're holding minuscule amounts if any.
Have to agree with everyone else here - tons of great info in this thread. So many people don't understand how drastically the athletes diet needs to differ from a 'normal' American diet. Is it even possible to go out to a restaurant and get a comparable meal to what you're putting together? If it was, would the place even stay in business?

as for water manipulation - nope, no need to..that is the whole idea basically, behind my drive to be show-ready pretty much ~2 weeks out, so I can avoid all the nonsense/tweaky approaches that more often than not detract from everything you want on stage day: fullness and pump!
water and sodium will be manipulated very minutely and intelligently, and at no time will I ever totally "cut water" off from consumption..same with salt, altho added salt will be avoided on day before show only
all this depletion/carb-load nonsense is for the birds! if you know anything about the body, you understand the body and it's desire to maintain homeostasis is incredibly powerful; the body is comprised of about 70% water, and salt is responsible for the pump - to eliminate these things AT ALL, is simply a bad recipe..but, the problem is, most everyone is not ready far enough out, instead utilizes the final couple weeks for continued fat-loss hardcore, and ends up having to resort to silly measures in order to "swing" the illusion to further leanness
so you get guys wanting to cut water over a 3-day period..avoid salt for days before show..homeostasis will simply catch up too damn quickly when you do this, and you will end up looking flat and depleted..even if you do it in shorter timespan 1-2 days out, you still cannot stay ahead of the bodies ability to adapt and try to recover with opposing actions in the body -- that effectively make the effort totally anti-productive
and then: you got the real crazy stuff happening that some guys do, the potassium overload in combination with salt elimination, building potassium supplementation to insane levels while cutting water/eliminating salt/reduction and elimination of water over multiple-day period -- I mean, this is a damn recipe for a heart attack! I too have been guilty of this, in my first show, advised by my "guru"; and, I felt like straight up ass on stage! blood pressure was whack, electrolytes all messed up, buzzing going on in my head all day long - was not enjoyable, at all, and thankfully that was only time I ever tried that nonsense
so, it's all in the approach, and an understanding of the process..i am incorporating things this prep that I never have, with a totally different mindsest to utilizing the premises I have long considered to be correct, but just could not undertake because (like most everyone else) I was simply not lean enough at the end, and needed that extra "something"
smart, small maneuvering, is all that is needed

diet/nutrition? been doing constant self-study and realization since late 90s, and only continue to learn more
contests? this will only be my 4th actual NPC event; I did couple local/city non-organized events ~30y/o, before I jumped in to organized competition
in the last 5-6yrs as well, I have built upon a small business I run, online/prep nutrition guidance & counseling..this has given me further experience on a wide range of factors
notes for today: well the only really "negative" thing this whole prep has been a serious lack of sleep; I mean as a rule, I normally do not sleep much (5-6hrs/night usually), but more often than not I have been in 3-5hr range nightly this entire time - sometimes as little as 1.5hrs, and once I stayed up all night! I never sleep
and last night, was 4hrs..found myself up insanely early (430am), decided to do some fasted LISS upon rising even tho it was scheduled off-day for this..changes in physique are getting scary; I mean, veins at totally new level, muscle density/definition at all-time bests - and yes, blatant obvious improvement from yesterday
this prep is turning into something quite special; I am very, very pleased and excited
soon will be time for last training session of chest/back..ticking down the time gentlemen, we are nearing end of runway on approach..guiding things in very intuitively and intelligently - feelsgoodman

oh - check out breakfast this morning..
I actually dreamed about this very plate for breakfast; had a hankering something fierce for some shredded wheat (1/2 serving), with vanilla isolate (1/2 scoop ie 17g), 1/2TBS almond butter and 1/2c almond milk mixed in -- omg, delicious!
also had 5oz turkey breast w/ honey Dijon and 1 slice toasted Ezekiel cinnamon-raisin

hmmm on the subject of cals..check this out: I am going to add 100 cals to the diet for last 3 days of training, will be at 2450 today thru friday, before I drop back to 2350 for the w/e cardio-only days, then head into final week approach
been mulling this for past few days, and today I am just kinda dragging (lack of sleep catching up mostly i'm sure), but intuitively it just makes sense, so pulling the trigger on this
won't be too much experimentation going on here rest of way, but this just makes much sense to me, cannot figure any reason NOT to do it really

3300 maintenance at 260 lbs
i have been hovering around 2700 cals a day... Doing morning cardio (hiit) 4 days a week and weights 5 days a week.... I dumped 50 lbs of bacon doing this...
Planning on blasting pretty hard during the bulk, should be fun....

come out of cut, add 2k cals or whatever..you will inevitably add fat, even if eating clean; your body simply isn't set-up to absorb absorb all those cals, and put them where you think they are gonna go
unless you are a fan of bulking with expected fat gain -- I am not, never will be my own approach
smaller increases, gradual as you build metabolism up - think of cutting, where you steadily drop cals as you go the longer you stay in the diet; bulking should be same process, in reverse
just my .02, for you, especially since you did great job losing all that fat to begin with, great job btw
