Well I get tired of eating so much sweet potatoes plain. Of course there is butter, brown sugar, and cinamon, but then I get a lot of unwanted calories. I also run into the issue of using all my added supplements into my diet, so I had a good idea today that turned out quite tasty. Microwaved my sweet potatoe, peeled it, amshed it up, added tablespoon of coconut oil and sprinkled with cinamon. Very goodNOT an IFORCE rep, but their new VMS Protean is amazing. I also dropped 15lbs on the testabolan2 and rev2 stack last month.

I'm just getting into the sweet potato game so the cinnamon has been all I need to add if I do at all. I've been considering making mashed potatoes with em but I'm not the biggest coconut fan.By believing passionately in something that still does not exist, we create it. I do like them mashed with coconut oil too, but the best imo is when you chop them up and bake them in the oven with some chopped apples, some red onion, a little olive oil (or coconut oil), and cinnamon. It is really good.

Well this thread inspired me to make something up. Making one sweet potato at a time was impractical. So I boiled them, removed the skin, and mashed em up. I made the skin into little mm sized cubed and tossed em into the mix. And fresh ground cinnamon was added for extra flavor - and for its insulin mimicking abilities helping my cutting and plethora of anti-oxidants. No coconut oil or anything right now - would throw off my ratios.
It's easy to weight out in exact amounts and easy to transport.

Ok, I'm a complete noob when it comes to preparing whole sweet potatoes so hopefully someone can drop some knowledge on me.
How do you guys cook your potatoes?
If in the microwave, for how long?
If baking in the oven, for how long and at what temperature?
If boiling, for how long?
Thanks, I know I could google but just wanted to hear AM's thoughts!

Actually try this....slice your sweet potatoes up....not too thin not too thick...
coat them lightly with macadamia nut oil
broil them in the oven until the crisp up...but not burnt
Then you have sweet potato chips! Pretty bad ass....
you can also add cinnamon to these before tossing them in the oven after you coat them with the oil

Baked Sweet Potato Fries.
Slice em up. Spray em with Pam. Season em with garlic poweder/onion powder/pepper/dash of sea salt.
Bake in oven at 450 for about 15-20 mins. Fracking awesome.

Sweet potato salad. Boil and cube a few, add red onion, celery, cubed apples, raisins and carrot pieces(shredded if you can). Use a light mayo or sweet(coconut?) oil and toss. Great dessert type dish for picnics, BBQ`s or everyday.

when i have some extra time, ill make some sweet potato chips. thin slice the sweet potato like a potato chip, cook in a frying pan using a little non-stick spray... time consuming, but sooo good...

Pick yourself up a mandolin slicer, will save you TONS of time and effort. Make sure it's got an adjustable thickness setting, and plenty of attachments, particularly julienne blades, quickest easiest fries you'll ever make. get creative!

Not sure if you guys like this one but my wife makes it for me and I love it.
Use a bigger sause pan so you can saute and then put in the oven (so no plastic handles), you can transfer in to a oven safe pan later.
Preheat oven to 450.
Cut up the Sweet Potato in to chunks,
slice up peppers and onions,
Slice up smoked sausage.
Sea Salt and Black Pepper to taste. But can really add any spices you want for a different flavor.
In saute pan, Saute peppers in little olive oil until the peppers are a little soft then add in the onions and brown them. Then add in the smoked sausage cook for a little while (little browning) then add in the sweet potatos. And about 4-5 mins of Sauting the sweet potatos.
(If you need to put into a oven safe pan do now)
Put into the oven until the potatos are cooked.
It is by far the best tasting way to have sweet potatos to me. I put a little brown mustard on the meal for a good taste and because I think it tastes good.
If you guys want a better write up I will ask my wife and I will put it up.

Nice. I got my own yam recipe. I call it a bodybuilder's pudding.
Bake yams, cool in fridge.
Once cool mix with vanilla flavored Greek yogurt (0% or 2% fat). (18-23g protein)
Now, the vanilla flavor has high sugar content, so Id go with the original and season yourself with what you mentioned. But by adding the Greek yogurt you get your protein too.

Sweet potato pancakes are good but, sometime I'm in a rush lol ...... I use baby food lol I just try not to drive down the street and get caught eating it ..... ppl will think your crazy lol

this was new for me. the other night i had them cooked almost like sweet potato soufle (i think), but they had sliced apples mixed in and cooked with them with marshmallows broiled on top. FRIGGIN AWESOME!!! i could imagine peaches, pears, etc. the textures go really nice and flavors are complementary. i highly recommend for a cheat meal, bulking whatever.

Im just now getting into sweet potatoes too, however im just going to stick to micro since ill be at work. One guy I remember reading his recipe.. called it sweet potato banana mash or something, micro the potato, short micro a banana, then mash the two together lol.
