Well thank you my friend for jumping in! My thoughts are that carbs and proteins should be combined post workout for sure, but the amounts and types of carbs used need to be adjusted to be in line with your overall goal at the time.

Thoughts on intermittent fasting vs smaller frequent meals? Or both of those vs. my technique of "eat when I'm hungry."

Lift the fücking weight from the floor, or leave it on the ground. The thoughts are supposed to be daunting. The pain is meant to be tormenting.

I believe that most of us have done very well eating 5-7 solid meals per day, starting with breakfast and then eating again every 2-3 hours after. Many an incredible physique, both natural and enhanced, have been built using this basic and time-tested methodology. Hell, I built well over 100 lbs of drug free muscle doing it like this and compete at 210-220 lbs at 3.5-4% body fat...again, drug free.
Now, do I feel there are some interesting variations on this theme that can be useful at times? Yes, ideas like carb back-loading and skipping meal 1 to catabolize fat can have some value and should be experimented with. Playing with nutrients at specific times to manipulate the hormonal cascade show some interesting effects in some and certainly have a physiologic basis.
But, just like the debate between steady state cardio vs HIIT, I have done it both ways and have gotten ripped both ways. I have been shredded on low fats, higher carbs and higher fats, lower carbs. Everything "works" if done consistently well and given enough time.
Each of us must find out what slight variations on the theme work best for us, just to make things a little bit easier and more efficient - but in the end, it is always blood, sweat and tears that gets the job done!

Training in high rep ranges. 15/20/25... Higher volume & chasing the pump and burn.
What are you thoughts on DOMs?
What are you thoughts/feedback on that stated above?

When approaching muscle hypertrophy we MUST understand that their are multiple pathways that lead to its fruition. No single rep range or training method is optimal, but rather a well-thought-out combination of protocols is necessary. Yes, chase the pump/burn some days and others lift heavy and others move the weight quickly and still others slow it down. VARIATION! Have you heard of my POWER/REP RANGE/SHOCK AND FIBER DAMAGE/FIBER SATURATION TRAINING PROGRAMS?
While DOMS is not 100% necessary in order to see new growth I DO believe it should be experienced to some degree to tell us we have damaged muscle fibers that will need to be repaired.

I'd be interested in this. I enjoy it from a powerlifting perspective but am not sure if it has merits for the sole purpose of aestheticsOriginally Posted by howwedo107
