Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism

Robert A. Pape, professor of political science at the University of Chicago and author of the study Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism, explains why it is that suicide bombers do what they do: To rid their land of foreign combat forces. That’s it. Not religion. Not virgins in Heaven. Not Democracy. Not Freedom™. Not women’s rights… Occupation.

Technically that means more occupation should equal more suicide bombers which should exhaust the supply of them sooner rather than later.

I would agree. Especially given the fact that terrorism spread like wildfire within Iraq after the 2003 invasion. Bin Laden laid it out plain and simple in the 1990's that it's our foreign policy of having troops in their holy land (which we removed), occupation of Islamic countries, and our percieved unwavering support of Israel at the expense of Palestinians that are his reasons for wishing us harm.
