    brb bulkin' for 4 years

From July 05 to July 09 (yesterday)

yes 4 years, buuut there were two 12-month "breaks" where I made no progress. Either from not eating enough, overeating and not working out, or just getting sick. So although this took 4 years, it's only 2 years of working out.

  2. Nice progress, and nice lats! I request a back shot.

Not the best shot, and my back development is uneven because of shoulder "winging"

This is what happens when I work my back with any pull movement:

  4. Very nice. Looks pretty evenly developed IMO.

heh, thanks.. but check out the insertion of the right shoulder blade in the pullup picture. I'm not trying to pullup more with my right side, nor am I twisting at all -- that's just how I do a regular, even "pull" with both my arms. So I don't know if competing is ever in the picture for me (I really want to in 2 or 3 years), because of how my back will develop (unevenly) due to the winging

  6. Yeah, I notice it in the pullup pic. Maybe you could change some angles of other lifts to even it out. It still looks evenly built, but I'm no judge!

  7. great progress man

  8. If you do decide to compete you can learn how to pose and flex in a way that gives the illusion of near perfect symmetry...

Really concentrate on your "weak" side during compound movements. Add dumbell work so your strong side can't compensate - and watch your form. I have the same problem with my legs - my left knee gives me trouble so I have to be real intentional while doing squats and leg presses not to let my right leg compensate. I also added lunges and single leg extensions to ensure I'm working them evenly.

Great progress by the way! Keep up the good work man.

  9. great progress bro! keep it up!

thanks for all the comments guys! Yea, I'd probably need a coach for the competition. Realistically, I want to do one in 2.5 years. I'm going to bulk for the next 24 months.. really lean though, and at the same time kill myself in the gym. I'm hoping to gain 2 - 2.5lb's each month.. which means that in one year I'll have put on approximately 20lb's or so, and in another year I'll have put on a total of 40lb's. That's 40lb's in 104 weeks.

After that, I think I'll give myself 6 months to do a contest prep. If I need more size, then I'll bulk for another month or two, and then cut.. but realistically, I'm probably going to cut SLOWLY for the 6 months. And learn to pose.

So I'm going to need to find a coach for me within 2 years. Anybody know any good ones around Boston?

Amen to this! You can't build a house w/o a great foundation.

Looks like you have some back inbalances. T-Nation has LOTS of articles to correct this.

You've done really well so far. Add in some weekly squats, DL's and SLDL, try not to miss too many workouts, eat more, add in a quality gainer....MHP comes to mind and you'll make even greater gains. Good luck.
