Nolvasan-chlorhexidine diacetate
Is this a good antiseptic to use routinely or is it better for cleaning open wounds? Any other thoughts on this drug would also be very welcome.

It's a good one. I've even seen it used internally before in a mouthwash gargle for kids so it must be pretty safe too.

This depends. At my work we we 2 different types of novasan/cholrhexidine. The first is a gel that is dilutied why the other is a paste. The gel works great. I use it when ever i get a cut or get clawwed. We also use it to scrub before surgery. With an alchohol alternating with novasan.
The only other note i can add is that the paste can cause cancer in humans. I would avoid the past at all times. It is ussualy used when we are wrapping a lacuration up but not for anything else.
