Strange question for newbie

So I had gone to my md and then endo due to low test. Endo is giving me the run around. Total test in the high 300's but highly symptomatic to the point these things are affecting my life. Increased fat in mid section, ed/libido, sleep, mood changes, hair loss etc. I'm 35 with no history of AAS or ph use. My endo told he was not going to put me on TRT for now because my levels were only on the low end of normal. I've done my research and they are normal for an 80 year old. This docs answer was to write for Viagra and have me retest now for the 3rd time. Granted when I had those numbers I was on natty test boosters. I understand that TRT is a lifelong choice and one I must commit to knowing any risk involved.

So here is my question. I was told to run a short cycle of 2-4 weeks of test cyp with no pct then retest to get my numbers to bottom out. I want to know is this my best bet and what risks am I running? Is this the best way to go about it. Finding a different doc may not be an option as the others in my area are all cash docs I can not afford.

Really?
I don't think falsifying your test results is the answer bro. Why cause more damage to your HPTA if you don't have to?

If you are in the upper range of 300, you are in good shape. Who told you those numbers were that of an 80 year old? Most men between the ages of 30 and 45 fall within that range and it's not bad at all. Once you hit 50 you see a dip into the 200 range, but if you're close to 400, you have other issues. Sounds more like a mid-life crisis than low test. Workout, eat right and accept the fact that you are prone to male pattern baldness. Leave the test alone.

Thanks for the replies but based on all research I have done those numbers are not considered normal. A google search of testosterone levels based on age chart will show what I am referring to. Also from what I have looked into TRT docs will treat at my age if levels are under 500. Some labs use a range of around 300-800 as normal where others are 400-1000. Again I am open minded to suggestions and feedback. The test idea came from others on a different thread.

Depending on the lab, the range is usually 200--900. I don't need to Google it; I've been at this for a few decades and am very familiar with TRT and AAS. Seems to me you want a doctor to prescribe testosterone to you and you will go to any length to get him to prescribe it. If you are serous about your health then you need to have your adrenals checked first before jumping on testosterone. I agree with your doctor that you are not a candidate for TRT. What did he say when you told him to Google it?

Then find another Endo. Don't crash your T just to get on TRT.

Thank you. This is the info I am looking for. No. That is NOT what I am looking to do. This was the advice I was given and that seemed pretty shady to me. Trying to get some clarity from knowledgeable people. And wasn't trying to insult you I have no way of knowing your history just using what little knowledge I have. You don't know what you don't know.

What specific tests would you suggest I ask for?

I would test for: Aldosterone, Cortisol, 18-Hydroxycortisol, DHEA-S at a minimum. You have two adrenal gland on top of each kidney. They are responsible for keeping your body in perfect harmony through the endocrine system. You need to make sure your thyroid is good, which controls the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland. Also check your potassium levels. If everything is in range, then go to a doctor who specializes in the endocrine system and have him evaluate you. In fact, you should just go seek one out and have him do the tests and give you his recommendations. But from my computer seat, you really don't sound like anything is wrong, just middle age catching up on you. Oh, have him check your E2 too, very important.
