| Registered User | I know of some people who had growth spurts in their 20's and it seems like it is not that uncommon. I'm only 20 myself so I don't know for sure, but I hope I grow some more im 5'11 now. Ive read that mens growth plates usually fuse at bout 25, but if you think about it a lot of people **** up the chance of growing more by drinking, smoking, eating a ****ty diet once they reach their 20's. |

| Banned | they start closing up at around 16 and 17 first the long bones (vertical height) in your upper teens and in your 20's thats when your frame starts to get wider. some people have less estro(delayed closure) so they may experience a spurt later on but people like me, we're f*cked lol. im 5'7.5" |

| Registered User | I've researched this topic fairly extensively. I believe the answer is yes for a sizable percentage of the population. However, you will get different answers depending on where you look and who you ask. There are people who claim that growth plates close at 16-18 (I've even heard 15 claimed), but I don't buy that noise. You can go to any high school and look at photos of the senior class. There are not very many of them that would be considered tall by adult standards. The "tall" ones among them are generally in the 5'11 to 6 foot range. If you compare high school seniors to 25 year old males, the 25 year olds WILL be taller, on average. I see members of each group at my gym every day. There are more 6-foot-plus 20-somethings than 6-foot-plus teens. The chart below documents height percentile by age and demonstrates that many males do continue to grow after 20. Quote:
