  1. Strange Diet Question???


    I am on a diet getting ready for a show in August, I have done many shows in the last 8 years. This year,I have been cycling my carbs 3 low 1 high etc. The strange thing is that on my high carb days, I feel horrible,bad lethargy . On my low carb days I feel terrific, good energy levels, great pumps at the gym , I am doing good in terms of getting into top shape, but just wondering since I have dieted many times and never experienced this. Any thoughts?


  2. What does your diet look like on your high carb days (meals and macronutrient breakdown)?

    Is this the same diet that you have followed before without the lethargy problems?

  4. on the high carb days i am sort of a macroblic diet 45 carbs 35 protein 20 fats,carbs used are oats rice sprouted bread fruit

    I've felt that way my whole life! Discovered this in college. Thats why my diet now varys from low to LOW carb.

    Without knowing your stats, activity level, caloric intake, and diet breakdown I will guess that there are two scenarios:

    A) Your body doesnt like the carb cycling.

    B) You are experiencing symptoms of hyperglycemia. Need to get a blood test done (fasting glucose and a glucose tolerance test).

    On the other hand if you are consuming most of that 45% carbs in one or two meals then you might be getting rebound hypoglycemia (ie the blood sugar crash that Jay mentioned).
