even slow dieting will lower metabolic rate, no question but very restrictive crash dieting will make it even worse and the adaptations will persist for a greater period of time

re is no magic anabolic window. you are slightly more insulin sensitive post workout so if you want to eat more carbs then it might be more beneficial but there's no magic here

weight cycling in and of itself is not the problem, rather how it's done... ie long restriction followed by massive overeating (binging) vs. slow controlled restricted followed by controlled refeeding
