I'm new to the world of bodybuilding and I had heard this nutritional term called Macro. And that if I stick to a 40/30/30 I will loose weight and build muscle. I'm 27 years old and weigh in at 230lb. I'm at around 21% body fat. My goals are to loose weight gain muscle and be at around 10% body fat, possibly weigh around 182-190. I Jane already started going to the gym for weight training and on my off days I do HIIT training with the Insanity DVD's. any help with nutrition would be a big help.

Lean meats, complex carbs, healthy fats are the basics for macros. And building muscle and losing weight won't happen at the same time from what I've read. A lot of smart people on here so look around the nutrition section and you'll find what ur looking for.

Gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time is totally possible if the OP is still in the "noob gain" stages. I usually go 40/40/20 p/f/c but that's just personal preference. OP do you know your tdee?Current Unsponsored XGELS log

don't base your macros on %, calculate your TDEE then set your macros to .4g fat per pound 1g protein per pound and fill the remainder of your calories in with a mixture of carbs/fats/ an protein as you please
