  1. Coconut Oil


    I've read some good things about coconut oil, and was wondering if anybody here takes it and what effects they have seen.
    From what I've read, people are reporting that they weigh they same, but their clothes are looser, which would mean they are losing fat and gaining muscle. Has anybody here seen that happen to them?


  2. I take Coconut Oil and I love it. One suggestion you should try would be MCT Oil. IT's similar to Coconut Oil but a little different compound. It def. helps though

Hi guys , i love coconut oil.It is rich in nutrition and so effective for health..I use it in my diet and it is so good for me.It is good for relieving stress and maintaining the level of cholesterol , increase immunity.It is effective for losing weight.Research has proved it that is control weight and increases metabolism.

  7. That's strange...I am taking it and My fat percentage is getting low. It's still calories so if u put too much than u can add more calories.

    Coconut oil consists of more than ninety percent of saturated fats (Don’t panic! First read to the last word. Your opinion may change), with traces of few unsaturated fatty acids, such as monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Virgin Coconut Oil is no different from this. Let us have a bit detailed study of this.

    The Saturated Fatty Acids: Most of them are Medium Chain Triglycerides, which are supposed to assimilate well. Lauric Acid is the chief contributor, with more than forty percent of the share, followed by Capric Acid, Caprylic Acid, Myristic Acid and Palmitic.
    The Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids: Linoleic Acid.
    The Monounsaturated Fatty Acids: Oleic Acid.
    The Poly-phenols: Gallic Acid, which is phenolic acid. These poly-phenols are supposed to be responsible for the fragrance and the taste of Coconut Oil and Virgin Coconut Oil is rich in these poly-phenols.
    Certain derivatives of fatty acid like Betaines, Ethanolamide, Ethoxylates, Fatty Esters, Fatty Polysorbates, Monoglycerides and Polyol Esters.
    Fatty Chlorides, Fatty Alcohol Sulphate and Fatty Alcohol Ether Sulphate, all of which are derivatives of Fatty Alcohols.
    Vitamin-E and Vitamin K and minerals such as Iron.
    Coconut In Modern Medicine

    Coconut oil has a host of benefits, but IF you truly have Crohn's-you will need more than coconut oil to remedy it. Crohn's is nothing to mess with.

  22. I know that coconut oil is good for us and sometimes i make it for myself. I wonder that is there any differences between handmade coconut oil and the oil we buy?

  23. now im confused. i got some virgin coconut oil but it does not taste good at all. ill need to go look up the name but think it may be from NOW. i sometimes take it, 1 tbsp and just drink it down. its eh for me. maybe i got the wrong type....has 120 cals i think, etc.

    I personally find it disgusting on its own. Absolutely horrible ... but I think that about a lot (not all) oils. If you put it on something like some others have suggested (not in shakes, I mean on bread, or broccoli, or fish, etc) then it's good. I actually like using it on salmon.

    Adding it to some meats or shake its better.

    Should I be adding it to my shakes or how else are you eating it?
    Pre or Post workout better?
    And does heating it up, reduce the beneficial properties? (I know it's not meant to heat on HIGH, but.... I think you know what i mean.)

  30. Yep, same here. It might have a faint smell/taste of coconut but I can hardly tell the difference.

    You can add it to your shakes. Make sure its already in the liquid state before adding though. Coconut oil can harden up and become the consistancy of butter. Melt before you add.

    Haha....I've experienced the effects of taking too much!! You need the bog immediately and need to go several times until everything has been disposed of!! Be careful...if this had happened whilst travelling I would have been in trouble.
