Potatos of Carbs

I was looking to change up my diet from sweet potato & brown rice. I will be eating a lot of fish and wanted to know about carbs from potatos...

I have read so many conflicting things...

Will carbs promote fat storage either
Simple or complex? Hence the rule no carbs after 6-7pm.

Does it really matter what kind of potatos I eat with my meals?

On the other forum they stated the kind of potatos don't matter it's more of an energy thing and calories in calories out deal for weight loss.

What's your guys opinion on how carbs react to the body and what time to eat them and the types?

You will get both sides of the fence here.

Me? I like white or red potatoes, and white/jasmine rice. They are more enjoyable to me then yams/sweet potato, or brown rice.

Hit your carb target, with whatever you like, as in the presence of whole meal(ie. fish, and a veg for example) it is not even worth stressing over.

Im with frank, I prefer red potatoes over sweet, I do eat brown rice simply bc I cant find some decent cheap bismotti (sp?) or jasmine rice. I dont stress over where my carbs from usually. I also have a bad habit of eating baked lays for carbs lol.
