Why is this in most protein powders and how healthy is it? I've looked it up, but figured I'd ask you guys to get more info, because alot of you know your stuff and provide good articles.
It's put in there as an artificial sweetener to improve taste. As far as the risk of consumption go, from what I've read in the past it does not seem to be any better or any worse than any other artificial sweetener. I really don't think there are any solid facts that it is harmful or that it is not harmful for consumption by humans. Of course, not being an expert on the subject by any means, I'd be interested to see what other users come up with myself.
