Maintenance Calories

  1. Maintenance Calories

I was reading and article which stated that if you ate at your maintenance calories it didn't matter what kind of food that you ate you couldn't gain weight. So I checked my maintenance calories on one of the websites and at 192 pounds my maintenance calories are 2770, So i then checked the calories in a frosted chocolate donut at Dunkin Donuts and it was 230 calories, I divided that by 2770 and basically i can eat 12 of theses donuts a day and not gain weight..I find this hard to believe, can this be true

  2. BTW, I have no intenton of doing this i'm just curious,

  3. Yes it is true. By actually doing the math you can see why obesity is an epidemic.

That said, keep in mind that some of those calorie counts (especially your BMR and maintenance) are estimates.

  4. Yeah, I'm 6'2, 215 and I would put on fat like a mo-fo if I ate 2700 cals a day.

Those are just "guidelines". You really need to use fitday to see what your body needs and pay attention to what you see happening in the mirror. Everyone is different.

So if you upped your calories to 13 donuts a day that would be an extra 230 calories above maintenance( A CLEAN BULK )??
