    Strength training suggestions?

    Hello everyone,

I have just recently started focusing my efforts on primarily strength. I am wondering if you have any suggestions on calorie distribution. I am not really looking to bulk up. I am at my goal weight but now I want to maximize the weight I lift. Should I eat a maintenance diet, higher carb, higher protein? Any suggestions would be helpful.

My current stats are as follows:
    height - 5' 11"
    weight - 200 lbs +/- a few lbs
    bench - 270 lbs
    squat - 350 lbs
    curl - 120 lbs

P.S. I understand that generally with strength comes size but I would like to stay somewhat close to my current weight.

eat at maintenance, carbs all day prior to workout, then taper down carbs post workout (you won't need them for energy). keep protein around 200g.

as far as training, either a 5x5 program or the 5/3/1 powerlifter routine.

Word. 5x5 would be a good choice and remember to increase your fats and produce as you taper off your carbs.

Thanks for the help guys. It seems like you can find all sorts of info about bulking and cutting, but when it comes to actual strength training its limited. I'm gonna give the suggestions a try.
