Same rules as always, with one exception. In the past I have given credit for method of victory pick regardless of whether or not the winner of the fight was picked correctly. Now I will only give credit for method of victory pick if you pick the winner of the fight correctly. So pick a winner for all fights(2 points per correct pick), pick method of victory(KO, Sub, or Dec),(1 point per correct pick, only if you picked the winner of the fight correctly), pick the time you think the main event will end, that's the tie breaker, if necessary.

Chuck Liddell vs Keith Jardine(main event, pick time.......ex Rd 2 2:20)
Mauricio Rua vs Forrest Griffin
Jon Fitch vs Diego Sanchez
Kaz Nakamura vs Lyoto Machida
Thiago Tavares vs Tyson Griffin

Anthony Johnson vs Rich Clementi
Diego Saraiva vs Jeremy Stevens
Scott Junk vs Christian Wellisch
Michihiro Omigawa vs Matt Wiman

Picks are due by 9pm Saturday night, reps to the winner:bruce2:

Great main card IMO. Let me give you guys an insider tip, apparently Rogue has hammerfisted Saraiva recently so you might want to go with "The heathen" Jeremy Stevens.

^Nice, Alex.

I was just about to start this. All 5 main event fights are solid. What the hell were you doing giving people credit for right method with wrong winner? No wonder I didn't win those.

I don't know why I was doing that, lack of proper logic? Somehow I thought you still deserved credit for picking the method correctly regardless of victor  You would've won at least 5 by now had I not been f*cking you over:toofunny: Really I owe an apology to Rodja, he would've won the last one, making it 2 in a row for him. Sorry Gollum. I owe you some reps to, but need to spread first.

Forrest is definitely an underdog, but we all know that the Pride stars haven't all lived up to reputation in the UFC so who knows.

Chuck has to fight with a shaved head tomorrow or at least no mohawk, right? He had a bet with Page.

Chuck Liddell - KO round 2 2:30
Mauricio Rua - KO
Diego Sanchez - decision
Lyoto Machida - DECISION
Tavares - Decision

Anthony Johnson - KO
Stephens - KO
Christian Wellisch - decision
Matt Wiman - decision

I could see Tavares subbing a gassed Griffin in the 3rd. Tyson's overhyped.

SAvairra is susceptible to the hammerfist, but only from a guy 60#s heavier, which is like the dude playing basketball with his chick that blocks the sh!t out of her Mutombo-style :nono:.

How about the winner gets IFL stock?

Yeah, I think Tyson is a little overhyped. Should be a great fight either way.

I wonder if Rogue started off on Savaira while he was untying his shoes. Then when Wilford finishes him off, he starts to help him up only to land another patented push kick to the sternum, sending a confused Savaira back to the mat. Where is that battle tested seasoned veteran anyways?

I'm outta here, gotta go kiss some ass elsewhere to get my rep up:FUfinger:

Chuck Liddell by KO Rd. 3 2:30
Mauricio Rua by TKO
Jon Fitch by Decision
Lyoto Machida by KO (in Rd 1 FYI)
Thiago Tavares (tough to call, but I'll go with Tavares by Decision)
Anthony Johnson by KO
Jeremy Stevens by KO
Christian Wellisch by KO
Michihiro Omigawa by Sub

The event is called KO, right? 7 out of 9 by KO sounds right, then.

Take my word for it - Saraiva has good form but slow hands for a lightweight, which doesn't necessarily mean he will lose in the UFC, against a guy with a 60 pound and 9" advantage, in the shorts, (insert Jas type Smiley) who uses WCW tactics, he's sh*t on a shingle, slimy toast.

Tavares and Griffin will be the technique clinic of the night, and Fitch_Sanchez will be the fight of the night. If Shogun pulls a Cro Cop, ****, .....

And if Lidell loses, I will be sorely PO'd as well, Poke him in the eye, Chuck!!, we have to see him and Rampage again, the last time was a non contest.

Alex, I'm having connectivity issues tonight so I can't get the smileys.

I couldn't watch it tonight. What did you guys think about the Griffen-Tavares decision? What the hell happened to Shogun? My brother said he looked terrible. Did Jardine officially expose Chuck as a grappler-beating one trick pony (overdoing it here, but you get my drift)? What is the meaning of life? Are Pride fighters just chemically enhanced cans?

Tavares won under pride rules, Griffen under wrestling match UFC rules. Shogun looked like CRAP! Jardine has such a weird style and Chuck was gun shy. After Chuck got knocked down he was scared. Like Cro Cop, after his KO he will never be the same.

I don't know anything. Cnorris is right about the Griffen-Tavares decision. Really could've gone either way. I would've given it to Tavares, but whatever. Shogun looked bad. I guess it's pretty cliche, but he looked off when he entered the ring, scared almost. Griffen is pretty good though, like he always says, "I'm not that good, but I'll give anybody a good fight". Shogun gassed bad, I mean bad. Really has to make you wonder about the juice factor. CC and Shogun both look totally different and performed totally worse.

I've been trying to tell you guys that these TUFers are the real deal:run:

Who will Wand fight now that Chuck lost? Man I hope Wand wrecks somebody's sh*t in december. Definitely not the same Shogun, but a lot of people will say he was never that good:think: Well, look what he did 2 years ago to the current UFC LHW champ. Forrest is a tough guy though, got to give him his props. I'm about to go into a deep dark depression, later.

Shogun was a fool for coming in out of condition, it's possible a blow/injury tanked him, but his real mistake was in continuing to go to the ground and making no progress, he was outpointing Forrest on his feet and would have conserved energy by staying up for a decision win, possibly a TKO on cuts, cause Forrest is a tough guy, but he does not have KO power, because he overextends his reach which takes away the final snap in a punch. That's one long goddamned sentence, don't care, I'm pissed.

Watch Wandy eat one's of Norris' Cyanide Sandwiches now in his debut, who does he fight now that the Ice melted?

Is it possible that MMA has come a long way in the last 1.5-2 years? You can no longer come in with a "just go out and fight" gameplan when your opponent has studied your tape extensively.

I guess the Twitchster was right about both the big fights.

Do any of you guys think the lack of gear testing in Pride has anything to do with poor UFC performances by Pride fighters.

I am completely flabbergasted by these recent turn of events! This is the complete antithesis of what was occuring when UFC fighters would dare have the audacity to venture off & compete in Pride! Damn the UFC and their infernal drug testing policies! lol

However, I can assure You that Fedor will indeed be an exception to this twist.

Here's my theory - The rapid improvement in the quality of US training camps.

Which Ex-Pride fighters have we seen?

The Good
Rampage - US trained
Anderson Silva - US Trained
Hendo - US trained
Nog - Brazil, The exception proving the rule? Hard to say, has only fought Herring.

The neutral
Herring - has done about as expected, maybe better in his second fight, time in the US?

Bad
CC - Croatia
Shogun - Brazil
Auerelio - Brazil, I think
Nakamura - Japan
Omigawa - Japan, don't know how he looked, know he lost.

Anyone else?, the pattern suggests, to me, that US training, the quality of trainers and the number of quality training partners, has become dominant.

Stands to reason, the US has dominated almost every sport we play in large numbers.

Part of the problem, a big part, in predicting fights is the lack of real timely information we get on fighters, we rarely get to see behind the scences or very often, compared to say, a NFL team with constant analysis on all aspects and weekly viewing. Still, betting favorites win over 80% of the time.

One of the reasons that top talent loses is because they are the best in their gym, there's no one, or not enough, people around who can challenge them to stay as sharp. When I saw the Tapout episode with Chuck Liddell, there did'nt look to be anyone at his level around to task him, even the best get rusty unless sharpened up by another master.

I'm rambling, that's what I think.

Silva trains in Brazil
Nog left BTT for Black House with Anderson
Aurelio trains at ATT
Werdum trains with CC

I think another thing that factors in is the prevalence of wrestling in the UFC. Outside of Coleman, Kerr, and Randleman, there were not any dominant wrestlers and they were very one dimensional wrestlers.

I was thinking the same thing, Rogue, and I think Wandy realized it too. As for Aurelio, he's always struggled with good wrestlers, which as Rodja said, are in abundance here.

More than anything else, I think Shogun lost b/c he didn't take Forrest seriously. In PRIDE, he always had a bottomless gas tank--relentless. He was gassed 1 minute into the 2nd round. I don't think it is just a matter of juice. I don't think he trained. I wonder if it hurt him to not have Wandy to train with.

Also, why the fvck was he shooting singles all night? Have we ever seen him do that before? I only remember trips and judo takedowns. Since when is Shogun a wrestler? So he gassed himself trying to play a game that he sucks at and ends up losing his #1 ranking to a guy who isn't top 10. It defies all logic.

That said, Forrest is pretty damn good. Let's not forget that he was taking it to Jardine before he got dropped, and he absorbed a ton of punishment on the ground, but was never KO'd. He was just overwhelmed.

Chuck was a joke last night, too. Learn to defend a damn leg kick, Chuckie. WTF???????? Basic MT is to raise the leg, cover the head, and have your arm defending the body, as in this pic:

http://www.drbookspan.com/images/MuayBentStraight.jpg

Of course, Chuck had nothing left b/c he had no lead leg left. That was an embarrassing trip back to Robbie Lawler losing to Spratt's leg kicks b/c he couldn't defend them.

I think Tyson did take that fight, but it was pure excitement start-to-finish. Thiago didn't get too many sub attempts, and Griffin's drop him on his head defense was super-impressive.
