Was wondering how stilted the article is and if the portions attributed to you specificaly were even close to being in context?

I subscribe and received my copy Saturday. Which means it will be on the stands soon. I was dissapointed in the article overall. It still suprises me when a "journalistic" article is so jaundiced. I think an article can be positive or negative without the trashiness that this one used.

That's what I gert for "reading the articles" instead of just looking at the pictures...LOL

Well I think they werea little more respectful of your portion than the others mentioned in the article.

And there is that train of thought that there's no such thing as bad pubicity....

I was just wondering if they treated your portion with anything close to the context you spoke in.

As you said you can't control the media and the concept of truthful journalism is an oxymoron (ooh another big word...LOL).

I was a little disturbed by refernces to some others credentials or alleged lack thereof. I just found it interesting in the overall flavor/spin they chose to put on the article.

Oh well I can always look at the centerfold.....

The article, overall, is about the A4 convention, HRT & Anti-Aging. It mentions Dr. J and several others who attended or are involved in the field.

Overall I did not find it informative and very biased/strangely written. I guess I expected/hoped for more from the article. It was very unflattering to several of the more prominent people in the field.

I haven't read Playboy since the 80's. Having a house full of kids can limit your reading options. Last night I decided to download the online version to see what all the fuss is about. I have to say it painted a negative picture of both HRT patients and doctors. One could walk away with the impression that charlatans are pandering to wealthy men, who in their mid-life crisis wish to f***k like teenagers - it' all about sex.

I've never met Alan Mintz; he sounds like a ghoulish characterization of a man. Only Dr. John and Dr. Shabanah had favorable mention. I met Dr. Shabanah back in November. After reading this write-up I wouldn't mind talking to him again. He sounds like a man with principals.

The writer's intent was obvious. This was attack on anti-aging medicine punctuated by the comments of Dr. Rudman's widow. The writer made it clear the Rudman would have been against the use of HGH as an anti-aging protocol. As his widow sobbed, we can only imagine him rolling in his grave.

Well thereare many inventors, researchers, scientists, economists, politicians etc. etc. that do/or would say:

"that's not what I intended this for"

"No body asked me first"

"I didn't get paid - or didn't get paid what it's worth now"

Knowledge has a way of mutating, evolving being interpreted in new wonderful and sometimes not so wonderful ways.

Inocculations - germ warefare

nuclear research - we all know where that has gone (good and bad)

Sometimes it's a valid cry, sometimes it's possesivness, tunnel vision or it just got away from them before they could move to the next step.

As I said I was very dissapointed in the overall article.

B/C not even Viagra is enough for a man of his "maturity level" to handle that many girlfriends :D Viagra gets the tool working, but he needs something for the drive, ya know?

When I was your age (23) I lived next door to an elderly newlywed couple. The gentleman was 98. He was a quiet man with a perennial sour puss until he met his 85 year old bride. She changed his life.

Unfortunately our headboards shared a wall in common. Every night for one year their love brought long hours of noisy pounding. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep. The old man passed away around a month prior to their first anniversary. Though I did not feel bad for him, I wondered if he would have lived longer had they not met. At least he died with a smile.

They weren't heavy set, nor were they fit. The old man walked with a cane.

I had a great grandpa like that--I can only hope I'm the same way :)

Great article, although a little slanted. Anti-aging has a way of attracting some pretty odd ducks. I thought the author did a great job at showcasing some of the oddest.

Do you think that was the intent of the article?

Or was it to imply that all anti-aging oriented persons are odd ducks?

And with such a broad field and such an upcoming field why focus on the oddities vs. the relevance?

That's a good point. He doesn't really seem all that interested in the relevance. The attempt to look past the oddities was no more than a gesture.
