My Low T story. What can I expect?

Hey everybody. I am a 32 year old guy from Denmark. I have some questions regarding your experiences with TRT and what I expect. I know it is a long thread. But I really appreciate any feedback on it.

At age 14 I got an injury in soccer and had to quit, it resultet in me gaining around 30 lbs of weight. At around age 15 I basically grew breast. I was never huge, but I did feel fat. At age 19 I was drafted into the army where I lost a lot of weight. Despite losing a lot of weight I still had manboobs and fat around my belly. When I got out of the army a year later, I decide to really do something about it, so I signed up to a gym and started working out on a regular basis (4-5 times a week). I could not get rid of it. I kept pressing on harder and harder. I figured it must have been because I was not working out hard enough, despite the fact that as I progressively trained harder and harder, I ended up training far harder than anyone I trained with. At the same time I had an absolute lack of energy. But I forced myself to go through the workouts. The frustration really kicked in and I started focusing a lot on my diet. Lots of vegetables and lean meat. I figured my lack of energy could have been because of glutton or maybe I am not good with carbs. So I tried to exclude different types of food. Still I could not get rid of either. Of course I saw huge improvements, but it still did not look right. People commented on it as well, and I figured it was just bad genetics, since neither my father nor my brothers ever worked out so I had nobody to compare to. I spend 7 years working out 5 times a week. At age 26 I decided to get the manboobs removed through surgery. It helped, but the job was not well done as I still to this day have symptoms of it.

My father and my 2 brothers are all able to grow full thick beards, while I barely got any body and facial hair. I thought it might just be some dna string from far back that has been inactive in the others in my family. Maybe skipping some generations and now my genetics just did not allow me to get har like that. I always lack energy. I can sleep 7-8 hours and feel wrecked when I get up. I force myself to do things though. I have never been motivated or had any drive to achieve anything. As a teen I would have some aggression and the ability to get mad, but after age 20 or so everything just rolls off me. I have no aggression whatsoever. I have no buttons that can be pushed. I originally saw it was a good thing and as me being in control of myself. When it comes to girls I am able to attract them. But it's always the girl picking me up. I have been interested in many girls, but I never do anything about it. When I hook up with a girl I have no interest in going home with her, or bringing her home to my place. I would rather go home and sleep. I have probably kissed with over 150 girls. But I have only slept with 5. Also I have experienced a lot of "performance issues", if you catch my drift. Ontop of that I have very bad memory and I have a difficult time focusing. My mind gets cluttered easily. I get lost in my own explanations and sentences.

In my mind all of these issues have been different issues and I have tried to find solutions for each of them. Then one day I heard a podcast with a doctor who talked about TRT and it just clicked. All the sudden everything made sense. I could relate to all of what he said. So I went to my doctor and got my blood tested. A couple of weeks after, my doctor called and told me I had very low testosterone (she did not tell me the number. I should have asked). Anyways she refered me to a department at a hospital that deals with hormonial issues. I just had blood work done this monday and have an appointment in august. How that goes time will tell, but based on my first blood test I expect that I will be getting treatment.

Is my story semiliar to yours?
What can I expect? Like if facial hair is a common trait in your family, would that be something that improved?
If I do get treatment, should I push for a certain type? From what I've read injections seems the easiest to control.

My first question is what was your injury? If it was to your balls, then you could possibly be primary hypogonadiam. Tell us more about your injury and any treatment you went through. Have you been to the dr lately for any testing?

No it was to my knee. The reason I gained weight is because I could not exercise at all. But I had an injury in my left testicle when I was 12-13 where I spend several days at the hospital and had to get antibiotics. I'm thinking that might be why I have low T.

Yeah I've been to the doctor and had my blood tested and I had a very low testosterone level. She refered me to a specialist. 2 days ago I went to the refered specialist and had 13 blood samples taken. The 10th of august I got an appointment with the specialist and then we'll take it from there.

Hopefully your specialist is up on the current TRT protocols. Having an injury to your testicle could be the reason for low T. Keep us posted

That's one thing I fear. Because I know Denmark tends to be behind when it comes to medical technology. It's like things has to have been on the market for a long time before any procedures are changed. But we'll see.
