Do you all keep a close eye on yours (PSA)? There is a lot of controversy out there now statting that the PSA is "as" indicative of prostate issues as it once was. Perhaps more appropriately stated would be that it's not as clear of a correlation to prostate pathology as once considered.

I believe that even the scientist/DR that created the test is now trying to get this word out.

A D.R.E. of the prostate is really the best/only reliable assessment.

Psa is a possible indication. I had a client who had a psa of 5 who they wanted to so surgery. After using common sense and asking a few simpler questions, it was found his occupation of being a cop on bicycle patrol was the cause. Since he had a week off from his job. I suggested for him to get psa checked at end of the week ..Came back 1. Some times you wonder what is really being taught to the medical field... Common sense saved this guy and unnecessary surgery as well as reducing medical cost. This is not the first time incident like these have happen I ran into
