Lab Work - Suggestions, Advice?
Hi, I was hoping if someone here could help me in analyzing my test results and what my next step/tests should be. I’m going to go to the Endo in the next month and I’d like to be prepared as possible to discuss my options, so I am appealing to the knowledge base here.
23 years old
6’3” 220 lbs – Used to be 340 lbs, but was able to cut down to 204, and now am settled at 220
Weight loss plateau – Taken about a year to lose 10lbs, just doesn’t want to fall off anymore. Changed diets, workout patterns, spoken to nutritionists, nothing has been effective.
Poor sleeping patterns – sometimes I can get to sleep fine, other times I’ll be lying there till 4 before I finally drift off
Hair loss – Started losing/thinning hair at 12 and it kept going on for 9 years. It’s a diffuse loss on all parts of the head, with the sides too, so pretty sure isn’t MPB
Sparse facial /body hair

*One thing to note is in 2010 I was on a full protein, no carb diet. 2012 I was on a Paleo type diet. 2013 am on a vegetarian + Protein shake diet.
Thank you so much for looking at this and giving any insight, I appreciate it greatly. If there are any tests I'm missing that I should get or something I should definitely retest, please let me know.

Just got another set of labs back. These are as of 5/24/2013
The CRP is probably high because I was slightly sick. I seem to always get sick whenever anyone else gets sick, and it lasts for months.

Find out why e2 is high may help SHBG.
Then you wonder why you are having issues
VEGETARIAN DIET -- Enough said. You are doing more damage to intestinal tract ..See it as your SHBG is going upI am not a medical Dr, please keep in mind that this answer is for information purposes only, and is not intended to diagnose, treat or replace sound medical advice from your physician or health care provider.

Any other tests I should get done to try to narrow the cause of all this down? My Dr. told me that my E2 was high because of my belly fat and that as I lose weight it should drop to normal, but it has been a war trying to lose this weight which is why I went to him in the first place, so that was little help.
Dang... well that's some irony... the whole reason I went veggie heavy was because I was told it resulted in less inflammation!

How would I know if there is a GI problem? Elimination diet or is there a blood panel that helps narrow things down?
Going to get a full Thyroid profile (FT3, FT4, TSH, TPO, ATA) and see how things are looking there as of 2013.
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get actionable steps to make a discussion with my Endo more productive.
Methylation Analysis from GeneticGenie (don't know if anyone has any experience with such, but just throwing it up here to combine all my data for my own sake at the very least)

If you have candida or yeast you are really screwed, You have a greater chance of having NASH from acetylaldhydes due to the intestinal dysbosis. With this profile I would highly get check for h pylori and other pathogenic bacteria as you ability to detoxify ammonia is also down regulated by specific mutation. This is giving me a small snap shot. Check out MTHFRsupport application it blows these away..
I would highly consider not go no where near dairy with what I am currently seeing in what little information was shown.
Do not engage methyl b-12 or methyl folate at this time...If any one tells you different has no clue of what they are talking about. Sorry to be so blunt, but its the truth. This is what I deal with on a daily basis, helping balance people who went to Doctors who were not educated or did not know how to treat methylation. This trend is slowly changing as I am helping educate medical professionals on what will be the future of medicine..
