Cortef use

How long did it take you guys on Cortef to notice an improvement in how you feel?

What is your dosage and schedule like?

Ramp up, etc?

I have had low morning cortisol issues. I noticed almost immediately when I stated HC. I was actually awake in the morning unlike my normal drag ass til noon self. I am only doing 10mg per day now but on the taper up. I am going up 2.5mg per week until 20mg/day. I initially took a 5mg tab and I felt like I was on speed, thyroid dump I guess. Work your way up slow. I am now at 5mg am then 2.5 noon and 2.5 around 3pm.

My doc prescribed 10mg pills, do they even come in 10's?

I guess I need to start real low as well.

I worked as a mod at STTM helping people with adrenal Problems. Here is a link to a FAQ's I did about it.

You can't support your adrenals so they can heal on a lower does the 20 mgs / day one can start at 2.5 mgs and go up 2.5 mgs every 3 days until they are doing 5 mgs 4x's times a day or every 4 hrs. This is a starting dose. Some need more best way to tell if your supported is to take your temps after your up 3 hrs every 3 hrs 3x's a day add them up and div. by 3 this is your avg. If your temps go up or down more the 2ths your not supported it can take up to 30 days at 20 mgs if you don't get supported then go up to 25 mgs a day starting with 10 mgs in the morning.

Your welcome you need to learn about his so you know if your doing things right I am on HC Cortef for life I have a Pituitary problem my brain dose not tell my Adrenals to make enough Cortisone. Do read this it is the best parts from Dr. Jeffreys book "Safe uses of Cortisol"
