However, I am not certain as of yet that this applies, due to some conclusions I have not seen support of... I have not seen any info regarding insulin being a GHR antagonist which you use to compare to the GHS antagonist used to induce the effects in the study you posted. Actually the studies I saw on GHRP-6 and Ghrelin showed that there were no changes in insulin with administration of GHRP-6 under normal circumstances (no GHR antagonist used). Obviously GH does impact insulin resistance as this is a documented effect of GH. So the eventual hyperinsulinemic levels the body produces are countered by a rise in tissue resistance (downregulation of the IR?)to the high insulin levels which actually leads to a state of hyperglycemia (and diabetes) and not hypo. Not sure the short term conditions and symptoms before the long term conditions develop, however. The only info on Insulin that i have found to date is that is actually upragulates the GHR. http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=841406 I have not, however, eliminated the possibility that the GHR is upregulated by Insulin because it does in fact antagonise the receptor. Such pathways are shown with may antagonist/agonist effects on up and downregulation of respective receptor types. I am very interested for any more info you may have on this, Dat. Take Care. | |
