First thing first, I want to thank both Josh and Vaughn for bringing me on to the team. For months, before becoming a rep, I have been singing praises about Maximize, Dexaprine, and Hemavol powder. Glad to be represent a company that I truly believe in. Even though I am new here on this board, I usually frequent at Bodybuilding.com as "SoftballNerd". After browsing a few threads and discussions, I'm thrilled to be here on this board, to not only represent IForce Nutrition, but also to HELP and LEARN from many of you. For those of you who already know me from the other boards and on FB, I'm very "well-rounded" and unbiased.
Training Background:
I've always been lifting since my parents got me my first weight set. You know those black plastic plates and barbell set that can be purchased at Sears for $49.99? Yes those. Of course back then when I was 16, I didnt know much of anything. I used to do barbell curls every day for 30 minutes right before I went to work at Pizza Hut. Gotta impress those waitress chicks ya know! It wasn’t until my junior year, in college, when I finally picked up muscle and fitness magazine and learned a few things. This was when EAS first came out with creatine (remember Phosphagen anyone?) and MuscleMedia2000 was a kick ass mag (remember Bill Phillips anyone?). From that point on, my physique just blew up from 190lbs to 210lbs over the summer and everyone thought I was using 'roids
. I continued to study and learn through various magazines and slowly through the internet (internet was just a baby back then). I then got hooked on prohormones (remember Substrate Solutions anyone?) and continued to get bigger and stronger. Then around 2001 and being "natural" at 5'9 and 240lbs, I started to have trouble breathing. While sitting on the incline hammer strength machine, I looked at myself straight in the mirror and thought "WTF am I doing? Why am I doing this to myself? I'm not gonna be like Dorian Yates unless I get 'roided up". I pretty much stopped lifting with such intensity, drive, and focus at that point. I won’t dabble much about 2001 to 2009 since I wasnt lifting much but was trying to lead a "healthy lifestyle". When you are married and start having kids (3), life can sure get in the way. Not happy with my 2009 physical, got me back into the "GAME" again and I'm determined to stick with it for the long run.
