From experience I can answer that rather easily. See when someone knows that you could destroy them, they will not battle for dominance, so automatically they will try to befriend you so that they make an altruistic bond with you, hoping that ensures their safety from you, and that you could protect and provide safety for them in the future. Fear will result in respect, whether they want to indulge or not, its the same with humans, which is why dictators still keep the same mentality.

Gotcha, wasn't sure what it was at first but my buddy has a 3ft boa at the house that usually just ignores other people or doesn't trust them at all but the other day he climbed right up my arm and just chilled on my neck/arms for like 45 minutes. Thanks clarifying man
