It can depend on the type of "release". They kick you out, they keep their title.

Though, I do think he just misspoke. He probably meant "Veteran, USMC" in a tone that would make normal men feel as if their heads were about to be bitten off.

Yes exactly. I mean, four active honorable years with 2 tours in Iraq... calling myself a vet feels weird. I know what you're saying, but "former" just seemed appropriate as apposed to X or whatnot.

When i'm 70 with a 40oz gripped terrorizing the grand kids, i'll be sure to let it be known "once a Marine, always a Marine".

  16. Army NG, 13+ years, since 5 days after my 17th birthday.

MOSs: 31B (95B if you are old school), 11B, 31R.

Got my butter bar September 2007.

Been to just about every country that speaks Spanish (only foreign language I am fluent in).

And the fun just never ends...

There shouldnt be anything weird about it. We both know you earned that Veteran tag in those 4 years. Wear it loud n proud. Good luck with your ongoing transition to the outside world. It can be a b*tch sometimes.
