Question about chest hair removal..

  1. Question about chest hair removal..

Hey everyone, first post. Thought that this might be the best place to find no-nonsense information on this topic. I've read up a bit on things like waxing, electrolysis, and lasers and want some feedback from those in a similar situation.

I'm interested in removing my chest hair, but I'm not sure I want to permanently remove everything, since I might not want to that look when I'm older. Over the years (I'm 25) my chest and overall body hair has gotten a bit thicker, and I have some hair running up in the middle of my stomach and quite a bit on my chest.

A few years back I naired my whole frontal midsection, (though I had to clean up a bit with a shaver). I've also trimmed my hair a bit in places, either with scissors or a trimmer, but that made it quite itchy when I wear clothes. So I'm looking for some advice as far cost, conveniency and efficacy. Ideally I want something that will be safe and convenient, and won't make my hair grow out thicker the next time around. Also something that will thin out my hair subsequently would be welcome.

Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  2. No non-sense??
You found the wrong place bro!!

Anyway, the whole "hair grows back thicker after shaving it" is BS.
Otherwise, I'd have a full beard - instead of this spotty facial hair.

I just use a Mach 3 with aveeno shave gel about once a week.
I had to start after I started taking these anti-estrogen supps. (I didn't have any before about age 23.)

No estrogen + high test = increased body hair for jmh80.

I don't have a good answer other than maybe waxing?

Poopypants had said that he's had lazer hair removal done, but I haven't seen him elaborate any.

I like your answer plenty JMH. There is no cure for what grows on you, just what are best options IS the q you SHOULD be asking. I own a number of Manscaping products. The faster, safer, and easier a product is to use is the right question.

I do a gaurded shaver and a close shaver approach to answer your question. In that order. "The less on my head, the more on my butt." Luckily I've developed enough of a body that if your staring at my head, you'll be upset that I don't own Brokeback Anus. Nate, I 'll always love you.

  4. Razor. The itching goes away after the first couple of times. Hit it while it's short (like Glen) and it is a snap.

  5. What about products like nair? I don't want the five o'clock shaddow on my chest .

  6. Ohhhh - no Nair. I tried it on my arms. Burnt me like a piece of bacon.

    No thanks.

My hair laughs at Nair, doesn't work. If you get a 5 of the clock shadow on your chest, your an ape. Grows in much slower than facial hair.

  8. you could try sugaring .. i've never done it but its supposed to be less painful and less irritating than waxing with just as good if not better results

  9. use some stuff like immac, no itching, quick and clean as a whistle

  10. what's immac?

Sorry I forgot most of the guys here are in the US!

It's like a cream you just rub on, give it a few mins and then wash it... and the hair off.

    This sort of stuff: http://www.folica.com/Depilatory_140_1.html

  12. The waxing is one of the better options I feel. I don't my chest but I get my back done fairly regularly on the advice of someone here, forgot who. Once you've waxed a few times the hair grows in softer and thinner it seems, and comes out a lot easier on subsequent waxings.

I also hate nair. Left that **** on for a while and got a bit of a burn and it barely took any hair off my back and shoulders.

To date there's no real permanent way to remove body hair so don't worry about being able to grow it back later if you want to.

Ditto. I guess I will try getting some extra strength removal cream, and maybe using more of it next time. My hair ROFL's @ Nair.

  14. Sorry, I saw the "40 Year old Virgin" and I won't be waxing my chest hair anytime soon.

  15. I've tried chemical hair removal products such as Nair, and been left with some seriously nasty burns as a result. Shaving for me isn't the best option either, as I tend to get alot of ingrown hairs when shaving, which in turn develops into a lot of extra pimples on top of what I already tend to have. The best option for me is just to trim a couple times a week.

  16. Hey just to follow up on my question I ended up using Nair Extra Strength for Men which works better than the regular Nair. Some might be sensitive to the harsher chemicals in this, but it worked fine for me. Had to touch up a few areas with a trimmer but overall pretty good.

  17. Old, but still good information. Anything new on the market since 2006?

  18. Nair "shower power" works good for me

Does it burn your chest and leave it all red??

  20. No not bad at all. Iv only burned myself one time and that's because I rubbed it in a little. You have to make sure you "pat" or "Dab" it on
