Unless you're looking for a video of some 12yr olds humpin' the neighbors Labrador Retriever, don't sweat being traced.. ;)

If you are looking for that vid, you need serious help, really..

I download DVD quality movies (not porn) ALL the time. It's not illegal to download, it's illegal to possess certain pirated things (Movies, software, etc. in the US and Brittain only) but it is not traceable on Kazaa to a specific IP address.

Kazaa is based in the Netherlands somewhere and therefore is a perfectly legal operation. You would likely NEVER be busted for anything downloading from kazza. If you did trigger a signal to authorites it would be by using non peer to peer sites like Napster used to be or website based dowloads. Those are dangerous, stay away!

Well, not quite DVD quality but good enough to watch. You all should get kazaa lite, no spyware, no ads, and supreme being status..

Mine are almost perfect, not just "good enough". A few glitches from time to time. Hooked up to my Sony Flat Screen TV ;) Life is grand.

Kazza and all it's counterparts are bullshit.

You could get a 700mb low resolution video that most of the time is not what you are looking for, or you could get Overnet, emule, etc and have the full ripped dvds and unripped iso's when you know for certain that it's real.

All you have to do is go to fasttrackmovies.com and you know for sure what your getting as well as the quality before you download.

Quick Notes based on stuff said in this thread.......

1. You probably aren't going to get busted by using Kazaa...However, I highly recommend using Kazaa Lite (http://doa2.host.sk/) and using their privacy patch. Doing this will decrease the chances of you getting busted.

2. Colibri - It's simple to avoid downloading BS off of Kazaa...use avipreview, which comes bundled with K-Lite....You can use avipreview to preview play avis while they are still being downloading. Excellent utility. As for ISOs, (s)VCDs, etc...the best way to go is IRC. Period.

3. Quasar - div3 (Divx v3) is actually quite outdated. Divx is up to version 5, and the HQ codec of choice at the moment is XViD. However, div3 files can still come pretty close to DVD quality....

Kazza does not and never will have a group of rippers working for it. I have rarewly seen any iso's and never bin/cue files.

I can sefely assume you'll probably never egt the full 5 cd version of MGS2:Substance or Kazza, Imesh or similar.

Downloading copyrighted material is illegal. Not that one is looking at criminal charges, but there is a chance of getting into a nasty lawsuit brought by the copyright owner. Recently, Verizon lost a case against the RIAA in which someone downloaded a bunch of stuff off of one of the P2P networks, the RIAA got his IP address and sued Verizon under the Digital Millenium Copyright Act to compel them to release information on who had that IP address at that time. Verizon is appealing it right now. My best guess is that they'll lose. I don't think that the RIAA's success is really anything to worry about though, it's simply too expensive for them to go after everyone that downloads stuff. Also, as long as there is no suit pending against an "infringer" and his ISP, that ISP is free to erase any records they have about IP usage. Most likely, a fair number of ISPs will adopt a policy of destroying any records they have as soon as the user signs off. Just as a hypothetical--lets say someone downloads stuff, the copyright owner knows his IP address, asks the ISP to give them his name and they comply. No one is going to bust into your house and grab your computer. They'll probably send you a letter stating that you've snatched their copyrighted work and you've either got to pay for it or erase it. If they really get mad, they might file suit against you and start discovery--that means that there will be a court order that you must turn over the contents of your hard drive within a certain period or be in contempt. Also, when discovery starts, you'd be in contempt if you then try to erase anything. Of course, a good number of people/corporations under discovery still erase damning stuff and it would be awfully hard for the court to determine just when you overwrote a file with ones and zeros. I have to say, that under discovery you shouldn't erase anything, but it could be impossible to tell exactly when you tossed a burned CD out or erased a file.

Yes Wings, the FBI have your info and their going to raid your house and take your computer to be analyzed by proffessionals.

On the chance that they find that 15 seconds grainy low reolution asian anal clip, you will be sued by the copyright owner which will leave you in the spotlight in every newspapper around the globe.

well i didnt read the whole thread but heres my input. i have gotten many dvd movies as out at the movie theater off mIRC servers like criten.net etc ... and i use win mx www.winmx.com to get songs/pics and some videos. mIRC is great to get dvd version's of movies or computer versions and watch at home for free. you get the file, burn to a dvd cdw and pop in your dvd player. viola you can watch movies that are out at theaters at your home :D

ahh the world we live in is so great, but so sad.
