As I lay here feeling worthless on my day off from school and job, I decided to see what was on the boob tube. I have satellite and was flippin through the movie channels.
I started watching the movie/documentary called HYPE! It was about how Seattle was the so-called grunge-band berth place. It gave the history of Seattle from the birth of bands such as green river, etc. to the death of Kurt Cobain (RIP) and how the media (like everything else) took seattle to it's limits and has now destroyed what it set out to create, or rather further publicize.
Growing up with older siblings and their friends, I was always surrounded by and exposed to (willingly) bands like Soundgarden, Nirvana, Alice and Chains, Pearl Jam, etc. I remember getting yelled at in the 5th grade for listening to my Nirvana Nevermind tape via headphones during class...lol. This type of music was always very appealing to me, in that it didn't have a certain sound to it and was so diversified.
Anybody else happen to watch the flick? It was made in 96. so kinda older.
