A friend of mine, female, is an advocare rep and after months of my sarcastic comments about the product line she shows me her commission invoices. This year alone she has supplemented her normal income with an additional $14,500... i am completely mind blown!

No offense to your friend, but it's a multilevel marketing scam that has been known to have some pretty shady practices. They're pretty big here in Dallas as I think they started in Texas.

All of them are

To pay so many damn people the products are **** and 5x what you should pay

I started attacking a few under another name just to give people real perspective on what they're buying

I can def believe the amount of people that do, back before i started lifting i bought insanity/shakeology. i bought it for im guessing the same reason most people that buy it do, to be healthy and look better. I wish i would have just started off on a solid lifting/nutrition program instead of the insanity program but it helped me focus more on my meals and exercise for sure

This one is my favourite

image-518424462.jpg

Apparently they know the exact amount of calories burned.
And its... 3x better than full dosed ECA per cap (on average)

Customers don't know better and buy it.

Reps believe their company is right and cite the doctors who back the brand if you try to talk scientifically against it.

Its an endless face-palm to argue
But on occasion I just have to, these things need to stop blindly being believed

It's pretty ridiculous that people can make even a dime selling crappy products, let alone make this kind of money

The more ridiculous part is the true innovative companies that are never heard of through the masses go un recognized... the person that recruited her makes 100k a year

"Itworks"

Os the most annoying to me.
Stupid wraps.

Every picture ever posted from the reps is obese too.
Look at our obese reps lose water temporarily.

Obviously none have a proper diet or education

Another one is Plexus Slim.. I can only bash it so much though - my wife is making 6k a month selling it lol.. The girl she signed up BELOW her is pulling in 14k a month! My wife tries to get me to sell it as a health product, but I tell her I'd rather just hit people up for the MLM side of it to make more money. She earns small commission off of her personal sales. She earns more commission off of all the sales below her.

I know that MLM's can be shady, but I've also seen firsthand what the products can do, so I have no problem pushing them.

But wait, MLM's are pyramid schemes. Everyone at the top makes more than the ones at the bottom. Everyone says so.

I sold Amway stuff in the past. I didn't make a ton of money since I didn't have a large "team" below me. It's still a top notch company, even though people don't want to participate. The DeVoss family practically rebuilt Grand Rapids Michigan, plus they own the Orlando Magic. If you go into an MLM truly understanding how they work, and the company isn't shady, then go for it.

Just remember any job you work is a true pyramid. Your boss will always make more money than you.

I used to think the same thing. I'm originally from just south of Grand Rapids and can definitely agree w/ you on the DeVoss family..

As for those at the top making more money? Nope. My wife actually has a handfull of "ambassadors" below her making much, much more than her, and a couple of them driving their Plexus Lexus... They're just very aggressive and go out and get as many people as they can. Personally, I casually push it on fb to help my wife build her business. Not a bad way for her to earn some income while staying at home w/ our kids.

Oh, and yes, if you or your spouse are interested in making a few bucks, pm me. Plexus has the best compensation plan by far over every other mlm.

I think advocare makes Spark. This lady I work with has the whole office hooked. She's like a crack dealer with that stuff. It's very unimpressive formula too.

My buddy always trys to get me to sell Shacklee. His mom makes well over 6 figures. Maybe if I would have started 10 years ago when he first started bugging me, I'd be pulling in some dough.

Giving back to the community doesn't make your business practices ethical or legitimize your business model. Sorry.

Granted, not all MLMs partake in such practices, but in general MLMs are notorious for it.

Not sure if you were referencing me, but I wasn't talking about it giving back to the community. It was about how it's improved the quality of life for thousands of people.

Your dislike for the business model doesn't De-legitimize it either. Amway basically pioneered the MLM model. Last I checked, no DeVoss or Van Andel has gone to jail for bad or illegal business practices. Because some distributor of whatever MLM is a dumb ass and does something shady, that's on them. I'm sure residents of Grand Rapids, and the thousands of employees appreciate Amway much more than you do.

Nobody has gone to jail, but Amway has paid plenty in fines and lawsuit settlements. Also, Josh said they weren't ethical, not that they weren't illegal. If people want to get sucked into these scams, they are free to do so.

If my wife & her friends weren't making the kind of money they are, then yes, I'd agree with this statement. But, the money is real, and the results from the products are as well.. Not all MLM's are created equal.
