You know why scenario 2 is the way it is compared to back then? Because the baby boomer generation and the generation after are a bunch of socialist believing idiots. Very ignorant generations. Un-Godly, selfish, and very socialistic. They believe everything Fox and ABC tells them.

No, Obama is the big socialist hancho in office right now. We have the greatest deficit in history today than ever combined. Socialism raises the elite and drops everyone else. Sure everyone else is equal.. Equally poor. Other than again, the elite. Canada is socialist, and its not doing so well. UK has socialized and islamified themselves and they are doing terrible. It just isnt being publically telivised. Why? Because socialists own all media.

Obama and all of the House and Senate need to be kicked out on their asses! Term limits for everyone and no lifetime benefits. They need to go get a real job once out of office! BTW no legislation should be passed that doesn't apply to those bastards the way it does for us!

Sorry to differ, bud, but you don't really have it. Read up on socialism as well as other political theories. Canada is NOT socialist. They are a parliamentary democracy, or often referred to as a constitutional monarchy. Basically, they are similar to the US, but still recognize the English crown. They may have "socialized" different parts of their government-sponsored human services, but they are far from a true socialist state.

On the other hand, take Sweden for example. They are also a constitutional monarchy, have a king and are governed by a prime minister and parliament, but are most certainly a socialist state. If you have questions about it, hit up my boy Andreas (aka Eizbear on here). Not gonna find a better person to speak on Swedish socialism than a Swede, living in Sweden, right now.

I prefer this term to describe it :D
I like that one, too.

I think the term "socialism" is thrown around way too much without people actually knowing what they are talking about

sigh...

Parliamentary democracy is a governmental structure.
Socialism is a political ideology.

It's like walking into church, being handed the bulletin that says when to stand and sit, then figuring out if you're Catholic or just kinda close to it.

And my true source? Because having a close contact in a currently socialist country? Umm... how about the degree hanging on the wall right behind my head right now...the one that specifically states "Social Sciences". Would that work? Does the qualification to teach others about politics and the requisite knowledge to obtain that certification preclude that my above statements may have merit?

Why thank you sir I did forget to put my glasses on this morning..

:22:
Let me go find them so I can attempt to understand the complexity of our government and then categorize it under the broad term "socialism" without really understanding that ideology

How did the topic of socialism even come about in this thread? Why dont you start a new socialism thread in the political section and get your rant on their.. its kinda off topic here :dunno:

Exactly you said what I wanted you to say to prove my point. Your stupid degree!!! Thank you! Bingo! Congratz, you have a paper! Guess what, most college professors believe in teaching socialistic agendas and a lot of times in a sneaky way. Bravo magnifico! Sorry, but nothing true is taught in the classroom anymore.

Talk is cheap
Yup! That's how I can afford so very much of it! I buy in bulk at Sam's Club.

Fortunately, I also have the brains to back it up. But hey, don't take my word for it. Let the newb decide...

And quoting the Christian Science Monitor and CNN aren't blind leading the blind? I see nothing biased here at all...

If you want decent news, try something like BBC or Al Jazeera. An "outside" perspective thrown into the mix would actually shed some light on a few things for ya.

I'm out. :unitedstates:

I was in high school not to many years ago and it just brings me back to the point a guy took a swing at me. I ducked under and put him in a headlock, and asked him "are we done here". I was suspended for 10 days the other kid was asked to leave school for the day.

Getting back on topic: One of my all time closest friends was a kid that I got into a fight with the year before, go figure. Once upon a time teachers weren't scared of the students and kids got paddled stayed in school to learn then got spanked again at home for getting paddled in school. Oh and guess what? The went on to be productive citizens.

When I was in highschool (early 2000's), the goalie of our rival school's hockey team used to keep his shotgun in the back of his truck, so he could be the hero if the terrorists attacked while at school.....

Improvements in communication technologies have simply created excessive awarenesses to emotional topics, resulting in fear. Those emotionally affected tend to frantically lobby for poorly-thought-out policies simply for peace of mind rather than effectiveness. It's like impulse buying.

LOSING.

I think if we all teach our kids to lift, the world would be a better place
+2. Get 'em in shape, give them an outlet for their aggression, teach them valuable life lessons and potential skillset. I'm not a fan of organized sports, especially in schools when they can detract from education (ie, sacrificing art & music programs to fund the football team), but getting them involved in a sport - as long as things remain balanced - provides them with more opportunity, lending to more balanced individuals.

I would rather have every kid into a martial art. Not MMA but a martial art something internal. Tai Chi, Bagua (still external but very internal), really mellows you out. Plus really makes you a formidable fighter. For those that laugh that... I invite you to meet some of the Tai Chi and Baqua Practitioners I knows

I completely agree^^^. I think a 2yr stint in the Military right out of school would be a good idea also.
