I am so pissed right now. I just saw the video that was aired yesterday in the middle east and I have never felt so fucking crazy before in my life. I am so fucking pissed right now that I cant even explain it. **** every living piece of **** that has the nerve to call that place home. Its **** like that that causes a racial predjudice to erupt in my body. After seeing that video I would give two shits if they pulled our troops out of that part of the world and nuked it to high hell. **** the hippies that say what about the innocent people. Those innocent people know whats going on around them. They know the **** has hit the fan and they choose to stay. Dont give me some **** about them being to poor to leave either because most of those motherfuckers walk a couple thousand miles to pray to some wall so they damn well can hike there happy asses somewhere safer. **** em, **** em, **** em!!!!! They fucking cut this poor guys head off who was there to help rebuild the countries communication system. The guy was there to help them. They fucking kidnapped him on his way back to the airport to return home, made him tell the camera everything about his family then said there bullshit about how this is Americas fault for not releasing some prisoners that they requested and then they cut his throat and commensed to saw his head off with a knife. i have lost a couple friends since the beginning of all this crap and have too many more over there serving this country to seen this **** and not get emotional. I got a phone call 2 weeks ago that another friend died in a supposed humvee rollover. To many people dieing are over there and it seems like for nothing yet. The only thing Ive noticed so far since the begining of war is the cost of imported products is skyrocketing and the polititians feeding off every aspect of war they can. Im so fucking pissed!!! If not for oil the middle east would have been a radioactive hole in the fucking planet. I dont give a **** anymore. I hope the american soldiers that were abusing those prisoners abuse them a little harder now. The nice db went bye-bye along time ago, evil db has cracked the shell again. I want to break my foot off in someones ass. i need to go back to anger management or Im gonna end up back in lock up again.

Easy said then done and you being a member of the service know this as much as anybody. When americans come knocking everyone plays the innocent bystander. When we leave they shoot us in the back. The last I heard was that 1 out of every 3 prisoners released from our prisons over there had at one time fought against us or will return to fight against us. What type of **** is that? We catch um, they play innocent, we let them go, they kill more of us. And I sure as hell dont give a damn about the abuse of those fucking prisoners over there either. It happens all the time here in America. What do we say about it happening here? It's good for them, maybe now they'll learn there lesson. I hear ya, db. I haven't watched the video and don't feel the need to. I saw several still-shots and that was sickening enough. Yes, these supposed Mujahadeen terrorists are a bunch of cowards. They hide their faces, because they know that killing innocent civillians is shameful and condemned by 99.9% of the rest of the world. They wouldn't last a day if everyone knew their face.

I'm surrounded by Muslims where I live. Less than 1% of them agree with the actions of the terrorists, but they would never speak out against it, because they feel like it would be a betrayal of their religion and they also feel that the actions are justifiable. I teach Islam and the Qur'an at a Seminary here and can tell you that neither their religion, its founder, nor their Scriptures condemn what the terrorists do. It's quite the opposite. Islam was born in blood and has always thrived by the sword. (No racial prejudice intended ... Muslims come from all races. This is the essence of the religion.) Most of the Muslims speaking out against the terroroists are Westernized and have a completely different approach to their religion. They're not considered 'real Muslims' by those from the east.

The abuse at the detention center was humiliating, but certainly not barbaric or torturous (aside from the possible rape in question). Things like that happen in war - like it or not. War is ugly and you've got people dealing with ungodly amounts of stress, fatigue, and pressure. Throw a bunch of idiot detainees who talk trash, insult, and don't cooperate ... and it's gonna get ugly.

Really, what I think is a bigger problem is the technology. Cameras and video?! There are things that happen in war that the rest of the world just doesn't need to see or know about. I don't care for the embedded reporters. It's also bad judgment for the troops to be carrying around cameras and camcorders so they can docment their wartime experience. Believe me - they aren't going to be needing to 'refresh' their memory anytime soon. Cameras are going to end up doing much more harm than good. Politicians will play politics and more troops will die in the name of political correctness. They've been trying to fight PC wars since Vietnam (Tet??).

And the idiot fanatics are now falling into the same technological trap by videoing the decapitation (and the slit throat earlier). They actually think that is going to deter the forces? If moral was dropping off before, they just pumped up the troops to a new high. Just stupid. Much more blood is going to be spilled in Iraqi sand. My old unit is over there helping run this prison. Before the whole EPW scandal blew up I was hearing from my best friend about once a week. He said there is a mosque of about 2000 Muslims there that has declared war on them. These people shoot from the windows or run out, fire, and run back inside. They take fire daily from these people. Twice he has told me about being mortered by these people and the only things they hit are the compounds where the prisoners stay. They are blowing their own people up. Twice he has told me of this and said it looked like human beef stew. You should hear his accounts of these two incidents. It would make you look at this prison scandal and a lot of other **** about this war in a different way.

These people are all up in arms over this prisoner abuse. The world and the liberals are all using it as political firepower. I'm glad the same uproar was given when they hung civillians, burned their bodies, and drug their charred limbs through the streets. I'm glad that while waiting for the Berg story yesterday it got a 2 minute segment in-between a full day of prisoner abuse stories. This **** is rediculous. This is not an issolated incident. They did the same thing to an American journalist. Had him give a speech and then proceeded to cut into his kneck with a knife on video. These people have not changed much since Macedonia in my opinion. They can take their Mecca and shove it up their ass.

I haven't had my chance to go yet. I wish I could have gone with my old unit. My wife just got back from there and I have countless friends who are there still. I sit on the army website with my finger over the volunteer button everyday trying to decide what to do. Each day I find more reasons why I should press that button instead of waiting for my turn which I am possitive will come anyway.

I agree with you that Muslim's in general don't go out of their way to condemn violence from their radical counterparts. The Muslim world has been 'Arabizing/Islamising' for the past few decades. Its a long subject but in short, Muslims I feel have had enough oppression by their secular goverments and have resorted to Islam as a means of protest. Christianity/Islam seems to be a religion of choice by the oppressed.

I'm appalled that treatment of EPWs are being justified. The US soldiers seem to be enjoying themselves hummiliating EPWs in the photos and film. Without photos/film evidence, I'll bet no-one in the US would believe such abuse could happen. Taguba's report was clear that the abuses were commited in order to soften up EPWs before interrogation, not because EPWs were unruly. Many of the prisoners weren't even hardcore terrorists but civilians unfortunate enough to be rounded up. If such treatment is standard SOP, I wouldn't be surprised if Iraqi's felt that Bergs beheading is justified. Now that its been proven though film and confessions, why continue to rationalize bad treatment?

I feel that Arab culture has bedouin roots just below the surface. Things like honor killing if their daughters are having pre-marital sex (or even raped - how is it their fucking fault) happens much more often than what Arab govts admit. 2milleniniums and 1400yrs of Christian/Muslim influence doesn't seem to have really erased violent pre-Islamic practices.

I was flipping channels last night and have a funny observation. Fox spent a good amount of time on the murder of Nick Berg. Pretty much other the other news stations mentioned it but chose to focus on the " prison abuse scandal". If the murder gets too much attention guess what's going to happen? People aren't going to care how the prisoners were treated. What they are leaving out is I am sure many of the prisoners are guys who are taking shots at our troops. They also murdered some other people and strung them up on a bridge about a month ago. The victims were burned and decapitated. Media Bias? What's that.

I am still debating whether or not to watch the video. Just from reading the reports, I do feel pretty much the same way DB does. I am a very fair/unbiased guy, but I do not know if I will ever be able to look at a somebody with a towel on their head and feel "normal" again.

Today a feeling came over me like never before and I swear if there was a plane in my front yard I would go to Iraq and fight. Never in my life have I ever considered it, but I hate standing by and watching our brothers die. As an Army combat medic with 8 years experience, a civilian paramedic with 1200 hours, and a rational human being I can say those assertions are incorrect.

I will post the video tonight so all can download and review all they want. I think he was alive during the murder and not only that but he retained brain function for several minutes after. If you look close it appears as though he blinks TWICE while that murdering bastard is holding his head up.

As an Army combat medic with 8 years experience, a civilian paramedic with 1200 hours, and a rational human being I can say those assertions are incorrect.

I guess those are solid assumptions to make based on your experience. Now what of the timer that jumps 11 hours between when they push down the body and they go at the throat?

Another thing about the timer jumps, that 11 hour one jumps forward during the murder, then jumps back to 2-46, then back to 13, then back to 2. I guess this can be explained by saying that they used two cameras, but I still think that's a little sketchy.

The timer also stops for a minute as they try to rip the skull from the spinal column, but this one is understandable to an extent, as I'm sure the muslims don't want it publicized that they are too physically weak to even commit the dastardly beheading they are attempting.

I watched the video today at around 11:00AM....out and about doing things and running errands since I didn't have to go in to work today, my mind still feels like mush....

The video changed me, it changes the way I feel, speak, look, think, and even how I go throughout my daily life. I no longer take little **** for granted. I'm proud to live on this great land, and if it means that I have to sacrifice my life for others, then so be it. I'm on the edge of my seat wanting to become a warrior. Knowing myself though, if and when I go over seas, I'd lose my mind, I'd crack up, start shooting every mutherfvcker that is male and non-allied. I get too caught up in sensitive ****, and I fvcking lose it. It's uncontrollable, thats just me...

However, when viewing the video, I thought to myself, why are the guys re-reading the same pages? Why does the poor guy sitting on the floor not look anything like Nick Berg?? Why did the screaming start WAY before they even took him down to the ground? Why does the screams sound so much like womens?? In fact, I actually thought there was some sort of "outside" audience that was showing sympathy for him, then when the beheading began, just thought to myself, "Well, that's probably just low-grade sound and shitty camera speed, etc."

I know, that sounds eactly like what SHeesh posted in the link, butthat was my first immpression as well, TO A "T"....

I only hope that it was propaganda, and not true. It would not surprise me the least. Let me tell you somethign else, if it WAS propaganda, then they sure as hell got the point across to me, and it worked...

The following isn't just a mere "ego trip" either. I need some closure for this, and until I get it, it will only continue to worsen for myself, and the people around me...

Don't view the video in 100% zoom...go full screen and look at it with a forensic eye. For instance, his body is indeed in motion trying to struggle evidenced by the fact that his legs are kicking (rather, pushing downward in PAIN). His arms are flailing. His mouth is moving. That man was alive when that murder was committed. It may not be noticeable until you go full screen but once you do the details are there. Once again, a need for all people to view it from their computer and not streaming from a web page.

I can't explain the time lapses nor do I care to. The voice / frame lag is typical of low quality filming...if you've ever downloaded low quality porn you already know this.

I agree that viewing this video is gruesome. However, we have a right to decide what we censor and not be at the discretion of the media executives. If you're the rotten.com morbid type don't bring that around me. The hosting of this video on the server is not for entertainment value...it is for those that need to see the reality of terrorism and brutality of those that perform those acts.

Everyone knows that Al-Quada follow Bin Laden. OBL and his followers are against Saddam and his regime. Now, why in the world would the Al-quada terror network give a flying rat's ass about how militants treated Iraqi POW's if they didn't have some sort of connection? Besides the point of course that they as a whole hate Americans.

But this video was for Al-quada and from Al-quada, and for their people to sort of "justify" the POW treatments. Why would they make references to that when they are speaking for THEIR followers? You see my point here? They wouldn't reference something that would clearly be of no importance to them and possibly something that would go against their beliefs for a "Moslem uprising" ideal....They hate Iraqi's, along with their Ex-pres Saddam.

It just doesn't make sense, if you're gonna ask for an Al-quada moslem uprising then speak of what you want your people to realize thats hurting them, not your "other" enemies. Again, why would they care? If anything, they would of appreciatted what happened in the POW scandal to the Iraqi people, the sick, cowardly, poor excuse for a human being that they themselves are...

i also think that these extremist's are trying to take advantage of the mistakes of some of our soldiers in iraq. i don't believe it was humane for us to do that. albeit i was not there, i do not know the circumstances, but it doesn't give us any moral highground to stand on. it basically makes us look bad.. and thats a huge deal.

I think the term the enemy of my enemy is my friend applies here. If Al-Quada thinks they can get support from Iraqi terrorist and cause the US more problems, why wouldn't they? I would imagine that Al-Quada views the war in Iraq as an opportunity to attack us even more. When Russia was invading Afganastan they let the US assist them.

It's hard to keep politics out when things like that happen. I read an article about Tillman's death. The main point of it was that Tillman was a stupid jock who killed people in Iraq ( possibly innocent ones)and he deserved to die. This is right after he was killed. If that was a conservative saying the same thing about a liberal it would have gotten national attention. Now they are doing the same thing with the murder of Nick Berg. They are going on the airways saying that the prison scandal caused this to happen and we deserved it. Sorry but they did the same thing a month ago when they strung the burnt decapitated remains of people on a bridge. There are certainly some things politics should be kept out of and this is one of them. The last thing that we need is Ted Kennedy's bloated ass on TV trying to spin this in the favor of democrats. heck, if we could ally with STALIN against the Nazis (STALIN of all people), this isn't hard to understand. note that Stalin also was arguably the greatest influence on SH in his formative years - he practically worshipped the guy - one of the most evil men in history.

the irony in the tillman editorial is that it is clear bigotry and stereotyping, something the left claims is the exclusive property of the right. how ironic.

the author didn't check to see that tillman in fact was very smart, got excellent grades, etc. it was stereotyping all the way - "dumb jock". as a muscular sort myself, i don't like being stereotyped. that's just what this author did - it was a bigoted and prejudicial comment - tillman was a good athlete, therefore he was DUMB. it shows you how people with an agenda do not think - they kneejerk. the editorial was disgusting in general, but this laziness with facts precedes that. it shows it was pure polemic and facts were not even considered. just assumed.

It's hard to keep politics out when things like that happen. I read an article about Tillman's death. The main point of it was that Tillman was a stupid jock who killed people in Iraq ( possibly innocent ones)and he deserved to die. This is right after he was killed. If that was a conservative saying the same thing about a liberal it would have gotten national attention. Now they are doing the same thing with the murder of Nick Berg. They are going on the airways saying that the prison scandal caused this to happen and we deserved it. Sorry but they did the same thing a month ago when they strung the burnt decapitated remains of people on a bridge. There are certainly some things politics should be kept out of and this is one of them. The last thing that we need is Ted Kennedy's bloated ass on TV trying to spin this in the favor of democrats. It sends the wrong message to every one including the terrorist. It's kind of ironic seeing that Ted is no stranger to murder.

All true. Pat Tillman was fighting for the tentants of freedom. He was fighting for Ted Rall's right to publish a cartoon that regarded Pat as a "dumb idiot, a disgrace, a sap, a GI Joe want to be hero". He sought to use Pat Tillman's murder as a way to further his own career.

Whether he believed the war in Iraq was justified, or even believed the Iraqi people deserve freedom - he had no shame whatsoever or respect for Tillman and his mourning family. He gives an awful name to democrats and Americans in general.

Attacking a dead American soldier, to further your career - in the name of free speech is irresponsible, shameful, and disgraceful.

Man, that **** pissess me off. Those fuckin animals didn't have to kill an innocent guy just doing his job. I don't know why we are still in Iraq, they do not deserved our help after what I have seen (i.e. mutilating dead bodies, terrorism against their own people, killing innocent workers.) **** that place, let it rot in hell IMO. If the Iraqui people wanna be freed let them die for their fuckin freedom.

I am still not sure what to think about the abuse in prison. On one hand, it looks very disturbing and dehuminizing to hear about the rape and torture. On the other hand, our POW's have been treated like **** by other countries so why the **** should we follow the Geneva convention when other countries don't treat our POW's decently. I'm leaning towards the "too bad they got tortured, this is war" rationale since they aren't in prison for being good boy scouts.

Lastly, IMO, the Middle East is a fucked up place. It is obviously very Anti-American, they wanna kill us so why should we have pity for them when those fucks were seen celebrating 9-11. That image will last with me 'til the day I die. Sorry for the rant, that video really struck a nerve.
