I'm not defending Jeter by any means, but it absolutely matters if he was safe or not. If he's safe he's safe. If he's out he's out. Thats how stealing works.

Of course, the majority of the time if the ball beats him there he will be called out but that's only because of lazy umpires.

Btw, what's wrong with stealing 3rd with no outs?

  3. Inge and Victorino won the fan ballot for the final All-Star roster spots.

I'm bummed, was rooting for Kinsler and Sandoval.

  4. Bummer. If Pena woulda made it, the Rays would have their entire infield on the AS game roster.

  5. I say Greinke should start for the AL, Lincecum for the NL.

  6. Mets and Braves swapped Church for Francoeur.

    Thoughts from H8Dook and JW/Loads?

  7. Jonathan Sanchez pitches a No-No against the Padres ...........

Woulda been a perfect game if not for an error by Juan Uribe in the 8th

  8. Saw the last 3 outs of the no-no at a sports bar here in Diego.

As for the Church/Francouer swap, I'm pissed. I feel like the only reason we did this is because Jerry Manuel and Ryan Church didn't get along. He could bat just as well, throw just as well and field just as well as Jeff Francouer, so to swap them (intra-division) seems pointless and desparate to me.

Saw that sh*t. I was gunning for a Sanchez perfecto, as I'm sure Sanchez was also. I'm sure Uribe felt like sh*t for effing it up. A no-no is still damn good though.

Yeah I heard some mumbles and grumbles about how Manuel wasn't very fond of Church and vice versa. Francoeur does seem to have better numbers aside from batting avg though. I think this trade will make or break the rest of his years in MLB.

  11. Francouer is aggressive, which I like, but there's a fine line between aggressive and reckless. He's still young, if he can learn some plate discipline, he can be a helluva player. Hope he pans out.
  12. Thumbs up

  13. Here's a fair question: Who would've ever thought the entire Rays infield would be in the AS game? Answer: Nobody.

Absolutely amazing, especially considering Zobrist was a superutility player vying for a spot on the roster at the beginning of the season.

  14. Any predictions on the HR Derby winner? I'm putting my eggs in Pujols' basket.

That's a safe bet, considering he's leading MLB in HR so far and he'll be batting in his home park. I could see Ryan Howard challenging him. The NL's HR Derby lineup is so sick.

A coaching mantra has always been never to make the first or third out at 3rd.

Dude the NL lineup is stacked; Pujols, Howard, Fielder, and Gonzalez. AL doesn't seem as strong this year. Granted Pena is leading the AL in HR's and Mauer added power to his swing this year, but I've never thought of Inge as a slugger and Cruz is just....well.....Cruz.

  18. Puttin' my coin on Ryan Howard even though Pujols is the 2:1 favorite...

I just like that effortless uppercut he's got..........kinda like a fatboy version of Griffey

  19. I wouldn't mind seeing Adrian Gonzalez go off tonight. He's a beast, but gets no pub because he's on the dismal Pads. Won't ever start an All-Star Game at 1B either as long as Pujols is in the NL.

He does have a great swing. Big ol' barrelchested sumbitch....

  22. I have Prince taking the crown.

Just tuned in... did Inge seriously hit 0 homeruns???

  23. Yeah.......Inge got the bagel ala Piazza

My boy Howard is still alive for the 2nd round !!

  24. I would have loved to see Griffey Jr. have a go at it. Even if he's not in his prime, he has the smoothest swing of any left-handers ever, in my opinion.
Nelson Cruz was hitting some bombs!
