Are you saying Techno as a generic statement for electronic music or do you mean techno? I don't want to start throwing out Trance names when your looking for house DJ's etc.

Mostly a generic statement for electronic music.

Not sure though. Not too familiar with techno.

It is odd that no one mentioned BT, or Tiesto. Oakenfold is a retard haha! I like them okay, but I am not a big fan of techno. BT is a damn genius though.

Ha, I am a club dj and have hundreds of thousands of tracks. If you are a 'newb' to electronic music and techno, you may want to check out some of the more energetic popular trance and house dj's out there.

Try:
DJ Micro (one of my fav's)
Paul Van Dyk
Ferry Corsten
Tiesto

A little heavier:
Christopher Lawrence
Nicholas Bennison
Freq
John 00 Fleming
Max Graham

And Progressive House/Trance: (what I spin)
Pole Folder
Sasha
John Digweed
Hernan Cattaneo
Dave Seaman

Most of these dj/producers go for a more musical approach, as opposed to just some chick belting out lyrics of lost love lol. The top ones I listed are pretty mainstream, the middle list is generally a darker, harder style of trance, and the last list is the more elaborate, complex progressive styles of the worlds top dj's. I really like the progressive approach of weaving deep rhythms to create a powerful mix that can go on for hours.

For mixes online check out http://alldj.org/ and http://www.newmixes.com/

If you have any questions just ask:)

haha just had a thought of an old favourite, he's more harder but check out DJ SUAE to be precise just have a listen to "cold as ice". me being from Sydney AU, this guy is one of the best DJ's we have to offer, unfortunatly it does have lyrics.

i dunno about you guys, yeah most do the "chicks beating out love lost songs over insane beats" but i kinda dig it, check out the happy hardcore cd range.

"I'll be your angel, watching over you.. A-A-A (insert beat here) ngel, shining over you."

i'm quite partial to african bambada, not a bad set of jungle beats.
