  3. Thanks! I will try to find it. (:

When will I be allowed to submit a long post? I am using tapatalk and it isn't letting me. Tad frustrating.

  4. That's strange. You may want to try to pull up the site on your phone/tablet browser. Yeah a long post shouldn't be a problem I don't think, unless your trying to add a link to something.

Thank you! Good to know. I know next to nothing about supps and forming muscle mass, aside from the basic physiology and nutrition.

    You'll have to register online.

    Welcome!
If I live every moment believing, then the chaos in my heart will be a beautiful thing.-
I am in love, but not in love with someone or something, I am in love with my life. And for the first time, in a long time, everything is inspiring.-

  9. I welcome all suggestions and advice, but I am here to study and plan for a healthier life mainly. I want to learn about building muscle for the purposes of resetting my metabolism, toning and the like...I am good on my nutritional knowledge I think. Putting good nutrition into practice is something that will take time for me. I am kind of an oddball but I'm probably not alone in this: I'm trying to recover from an eating disorder that dropped me from 210 lbs at 5'2" to 130 lbs, and has trashed my body composition and metabolism.

My dilemma: I feel powerless and like all I can do is keep losing fat until I reach a reasonable bf% and THEN try to gain muscle...even though I need the muscle benefits now, I am unwilling/unable to raise my intake above 800 kcal daily. I am assuming that muscle training on such a deficit would strain the kidneys and cause atrophy?

Anyway, if anyone has any experience or advice for me it is totally welcome.

You don't need to lose the body fat before trying to gain muscle, lifting will help you. I use to think like that, too. Kat and I have lost a huge amount of weight, too, and can understand where you are coming from.

My biggest advice for you is to get your mind right because at this point, no matter what anyone tells you, you probably won't take their advice. Just like millions of other people who have lost weight, the scale is probably your enemy. Not letting it define you is probably the hardest thing.

800 calories is dangerously low and you know that it's not good for your body but I'm sure you've been at it for a while. I do understand the anxiety that comes along with change but understand that the people on AM are here to help you. Also, you know that you needed help so you took the first step by joining our family.

I am sooo glad you know where I'm coming from. You're right, I know I need to heal my mind...no idea how to begin there. Working out helps a lot, especially with the self-empowerment necessary for recovery...but it's a two-way street.

Congratulations on all of your successes! I will search more of your content and use your experience to assist my starting this journey. ♡

    Thank you! ♬

I will do my best to reach out and learn. (:

  16. A diet less than 1200kcal/day should technically be monitored by a physician. Have you went to see a registered dietitian as well as discussed a plan with your doctor?

I have no insurance right now. /: Working on it. I am a pre-Med student and I have a good idea of what I should be doing with respect to nutrition. I have some illogical complexes that have made it difficult for me to nourish myself. Plus a digestive disorder.

A dietician's input would be useful. I'm open to it. Xx

Doctors don't go to school to learn about nutrition, but they can monitor blood readings an see what's going on inside. They would refer you out to a registered dietitian (specialist) as it'd be unethical for them to give nutritional advice of that scale
The rd would be for the illogical complexes an help finding logical solutions to your diet

Oh, I see. That would be helpful. It would take a lot for me to muster up the courage to talk to them about it. Only one person in my real life knows about my habits.

I will look at the options in my area just in case it's something I decide to do.
