Routine for a 1/2 marathon runner?

    Routine for a 1/2 marathon runner?


    Got a lady friend wants to start lifting and wants it to help her running, specifcally 1/2 marathons.

    shes liek 5'8'' 130lbs basic runner build real lean n tone, never lifted.

    I was just gonna have her do some SS or 5x5, anyone got suggestions to a routine that would help her w/ distance running?

    Get her to check out The Marathon Runner: Periodized 12-Week (Resistance) Training Programme - this article covers resistance AND running training for a marathon (and would work for a half-marathon runner), including the specific 12-week programme set out for you.
