Ab exercises to NOT increase waist

  1. Ab exercises to NOT increase waist

Hey all. Forthe past 2 months I have moved away from heavy ab work and into all bw work- hanging and lying bent knee raises, frog crunches, bicycles, lying oblique crunches, feet up crunches, etc.. I did keep weighted rope crunches..

My question/ issue is- my waist (below stomach/above 'my junk') has shrunk, making my pants noticeable looser. The issue is that my abs as a whole are a) obviously smaller and b) less visible despite NO changes to weight or bf..

I know that certain 'ab' exercises actually increase your hip flexor muscles leading to a larger WAIST. What sorts of exercises should I be doing to build the abs and not effect the hip flexors? Thanks.
