    With split squats you are using BOTH legs. With single leg squats you use only one leg. Split squats are also a plyometric exercise, whereas single leg squats are not. Both exercises work the same muscles (i.e. core, glutes, quads, hams, etc.), although single leg squats may force your core to work a little harder re balance...I suggest that you so some personal research re exercises and different variations of.

  3. I prefer split squats for strength/hypertrophy (using weight)
    I like single leg squats for balance and home workouts

    currently, I use press single leg and I would like to try squat single leg.

  5. Single leg squats with a DB on the loaded leg side is an awesome quad exercise and it works the hell out of those important stabilizer muscles.
