    muscularly, what is the difference between Split Squat and Single Leg Squat?

    With split squats you are using BOTH legs. With single leg squats you use only one leg. Split squats are also a plyometric exercise, whereas single leg squats are not. Both exercises work the same muscles (i.e. core, glutes, quads, hams, etc.), although single leg squats may force your core to work a little harder re balance...I suggest that you so some personal research re exercises and different variations of.

    I prefer split squats for strength/hypertrophy (using weight)
    I like single leg squats for balance and home workouts

    currently, I use press single leg and I would like to try squat single leg.

    Single leg squats with a DB on the loaded leg side is an awesome quad exercise and it works the hell out of those important stabilizer muscles.
