| Registered User | Glucophase Q Sorry if this sounds like a noob question, but would Glucophase inhibit carbs being used as an energy source? Ok here's the deal. I am trying to get down to the Medio weight class for bjj, so I need to lose about 20-25lbs. And I decided to use a lower carb diet with a decress in overall cals as well. well last night I did jits for two hours (with the second hour starting with some heavy rolling) and I just about died. I had no strength at all. And I was getting stuffed by a guy I can normally handle pretty well. So I guess what I am lamly trying to say is I need to up my carbs for energy but I need to lose weight (while retaining as much muscle as I can). Do you think glucophase would help and not inhibit the energy value of the carbs? |

The problem is that is you took it too close to training you would have less energy because the sugar would clear your blood before you could use it for energy. You either need to get into ketosis so you can use ketones for energy or you need to consume enough carbs so you arent dead during practice. Because of the weight you need to drop I would suggest lowering carbs and use the ketones. Drop your carbs a little lower and start eating more walnuts, almonds or MCT oil. Youll feel your worst between 36-45 hours of your carbs depletion so try and time it when those hours are on a nontraining day. But then after that youll be good to go. |
