I might have to get a little speed workout in on the bench at our booth, lol. I was just looking over my schedule and I won't be able to get my speed work in on thursday due to an early flight and earlier classes. Lets see if I can talk the DS team into letting me get this in.

Yeah, I am bringing my videa camera, so we will tape that speed workout. I'll join you.
That is, assuming the damn bench comes in in time.

Never used bands before, no.
Oh, I hit my bodyweight (235) for 30 reps this morning. That's not Nick Winters-esque, but its not bad for an old fart with a surgically repaired rotator cuff..

Thats pretty damn good for anybody. The bands take a bit of getting used to, they will make you a bit more wobbly than normal (especially if you have never benched shirted before). You will just have to remember to keep your lats flared.

tips too!I ended up winning the best overall lifter at this little

I just got done lifting heavy raw. I got 635 w/ a pause, 645 touch and go ( a little bit of a pause, but no press command).

It was just a Small Local meet with only 18 lifters.Originally Posted by NickW

Congrats, awesome lift bro. I have my middle fingers on the rings for shirted, ring finger on rings for raw. Remember to also tuck your shoulder blades and sit yourself up on your traps, it will bring you up a little higher and help with your arch. For this to be most effective you need to keep your elbows in like I told mentioned before. You get some better form and you will be smoking 600 like it was nothing. Good luck bro.

Thanks Nick hey what kind of shirt you going to be using at the
chicago meet?Hope all goes well for you and Hope you Hit 800+!
10-11-2005, 11:54 PM
RageX dbl ply, 2" scooped neck, grid stitched, and 3" taken off the sleeves. Best damn shirt out there, weights just fly with this shirt. This is definately the fastest shirt I have ever used.

Nick, looks like we may not have the bench in time for this show. Which sucks....
I am out for the airport in 10.

I may just have to sneak over to the animal booth, you think they would notice if slipped some bands on the bench and did 8 sets of 3? lol

I am suprisingly stealthy for my size..........ok,that is a really bad lie, people see me coming from a mile away.

Just want to say that Nick is a really cool guy in person, hard to imagine someone so powerful could be so humble......although piling 11 people including himself into a single limo is........well.....a tight fit.
10-16-2005, 03:06 PM
Definately a tight fit. It was great getting to meet all of the DS team. I was amazed at how great everybody was. I felt instantly welcome, and felt like old friends with everybody after the first night. Everybody was just incredible, and I could definately tell why they are working for DS.Originally Posted by uhockey
It was great getting to meet you, you were just as I pictured, except for looking like you were 18, lol.
It was great getting to lift with Rob also, it gets boring lifting by yourself.

not in college, it takes too much time. I would rather lift (and compete), study, and spend time with my gf (and I have very bad knees at the moment). I think things have worked out very well with just lifting, lol.
I have been offered oppertunities to try out at NFL combines a couple times though.
