Hello Everybody!
I am very excited to be logging Spartan Nutrition's Epimax product. BIG thanks to yates84 Dma378 booneman77 and Sparta Nutrition for the opportunity to log this! In case you are not familiar with Epimax, here is the label:
Me: I am a 31 year old male. Married with 2 kids. Starting weight is 192lbs. I'll let you guess my bf% from the nudz. I think its around 15%, but I might be wrong. (It happens a lot lol) EDIT: ***BEFORE PICS ARE AT POST #36***
Training History:
I came into the iron game late in life. I hardly ever touched a weight until I was about 25 or 26. I had buddies who lifted when I was younger and I would occasionally try to lift weights that were too heavy for me and I got this idea in my head that I was weak and that was that.
Fast forward to my mid twenties I learned about Starting Strength and bought the book and began the program. I got my lifts up to semi respectable numbers and got pretty fat in the process.
Eventually I ended up messing up my back really bad. I couldn't even move without severe pain and spasms. I had an MRI done and they found significant bulging at L4-L5 and L5-S1 and also said I had degenerative disc disease.
It took me a while to get back into the gym and when I did I was determined to reduce the weight, focus on very strict form, and make choices about risk vs reward of various movements. Back squats cause pain and spasm with even light weight so I dropped them. Front squats dont seem to irratate my back so I use those and rear foot elevated split squats as my primary Squat movement. I can deadlift fine, completely pain free, so that has become my main lower body (full body you might say) power movement.
Goals: I am currently cutting. My goals for this cycle are to maintain (or gain obviously) strength while shedding some nasty fat!
Training: I use a push/pull split. I typically train 2 on 1 off but will sometimes go to every other day if Im feeling run down and beat up. It usually doesn't take long before I'm back to 2 on/1 off though. I will get some pics of my log book up soon to give you an inside look at exactly what goes down when I train. As I mentioned above, I put an emphasis on using perfect form to help reduce the chance of future injuries. You will see my lifts are not all that impressive, but it's where I am currently at in this journey.
Diet: My cals right now are set at 2400. I had been down at 2100 for a bit but slowly backed up to 2400 for a bit slower fat loss attack to try and keep strength up. I use flexible dieting as well as intermittent fasting. My macro breakdown for the last couple months has been around 40% pro/ 35% carb/ 25% fat.
Cycle Layout: I will be running 5 caps of epimax each day (500mg/day). Not sure about dosing times yet. Any suggestions? I will follow this cycle up with pharm grade nolva (Which is already on hand) and maybe some other goodies to help out in pct. I will do a basic 20/20/20/20 with the nolva.
Other supps that will be used daily are: creatine, bcaa, PA from SL granules, multi-v, fish oil, whey
Debating on whether or not to use a preworkout. Any suggestions on that? Does epiandro raise BP enough to worry about high stim preworkouts? Will I even need it with the epiandro or will it serve the same function?
THANKS FOR FOLLOWING ALONG AS WELL AS ANY AND ALL SUPPORT AND CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM DURING THIS LOG!
