A detailed Ostarine & Training log from someone with Crohn & IBS

Hi fellow lifters! Been really eager to start this log, for a detailed background I refer to my first thread.

So next week, on Wednesday the 10th of February, I will start my Ostarine cycle from Olympus Labs! I will be doing 20mg for 6 weeks, and my PCT will be nolvadex and DAA.

Supplements I'm using:

Whey
Creatine 5g a day
Multivitamine 1 cap a day
Fishoil 2 caps a day
PWO maybe once a week, my IBS doesnt really like stimulants.

I started this thread today, because I want to give the readers an idea where I am at now, strength & physique wise. I will upload pictures of myself on the morning I start my cycle, because theres a national yearly carnival in my country, The Netherlands, which is VERY unhealthy for everyone, and especially for myself. People will dress up in crazy outfits, and drink alcohol and go out for 5 days straight this friday through tuesday! I obviously can't go out for 5 days because of my condition, but I will go for a bit. I had my bloods checked last week, and I expect the results to arrive this week. I will be updating the thread with this information in the upcoming days.

Some stats at the moment, measured with a Myotape:

Height: 6ft 2'' / 188cm
Weight: 198.4 LBS / 90 KG
Arms: 14.96'' / 38cm
Forearms: 13.42'' / 34.1cm
Calves: 15.15'' / 38.5 cm
Waist: 35.19'' / 89.4 cm
Legs: 24.29'' / 61.7 cm

Did not add my chest and shoulder circumference because I feel I can't measure them precisely.

My goals for the upcoming months:

-A slight body recomposition, I would like to have my abs fully visible by the end of march, without dropping a lot of weight
-Improve arms and upperchest as I feel they need some work
-Improve legs, it's really hard for me because I suffer from a lot of lowerback pain and APV. It is that bad that it prevents me from doing even light manual labor. I let the hospital and a physiotherapist check my back, and it turns out I suffer from a lack of mobility and a light form of Scoliosis. I try to repair this by doing various stretches 5x a week, and have seen a slight improvement, but it still permits me to go heavy on legs on some days!
-Motivate other people with the same condition as me, to show what is possible!

I really appreciate support and am very eager to start!

This is my first cycle, so dunno about "experience". More like Forrest Gumped my way through with help from board members.

Kudos on the bloods! I got them done before I started my cycle, will be doing them shortly before going into PCT, and will do them again after PCT. A little overkill maybe, but I want to know how my body is reacting to the Osta. Plus it's all logged so it's adding to the Internets body of knowledge.

So I did Back & Biceps today, my training looked like this (numbers may seem odd, but I converted kilograms to pounds for you guys):

Wide grip pull up, 2 sets of 6 reps
''Normal'' grip pull ups, 3 sets of 8-8-7 reps
Cable seated rows: 143x8 143x8 154x8
Lat pulldown: 10x132 10x143 8x143
Straigh arm pulldown with rope 66x12x3

Barbell preacher curl 44x10x3
Dumbell hammer curl 31x10x3
Seated incline curl 18x12x3

And I ended with some flexibility work for my lowerback and legs. I had a little cut in the past 2 months, I was dieting on around 2300kcals. With my mind set on the ostarine next week, I will target 2800kcals everyday and will adjust every week if needed!

Day 1: Ostarine 20

So today begins my journey, after the worst 5 days of the year (after Defqon 1. weekend festival in June) in terms of health & fitness. Our Dutch celebrations are over. I'm glad its done, because these days contained heavy alcohol use and bad foods. My starting weight this morning was 191.8 lbs.

Considering this was the first workout after literally the worst 5 days of the year healthwise I was surprised by the result and energy I had. I am aware that this could be a placebo effect, but Im already curious for tomorrow's workout.

Also, I will probably upload pictures tomorrow. I received the results of my bloodtest today. I was disappointed to see that they did not include all the essential variables. My test was at 59.9 ng/l, which is normal, and my DHEA was at 1171 ng/l, which is high. I will make sure the doctors include all the variables next time I will take a bloodtest.

I also screwed up on my pre-cycle blood test, but at least you have your baseline test level.

I'm only taking Mirtazapine at the moment. This is primarily to treat the irritable bowel, cause my inflammations probably ****ed up my bowels for good, which causes stomachpain for me everyday. I tapered off the anti inflammatory medicines, because there are no signs of real inflammations at the moment.
I am on Mirtazapine for a year I think, it helped me to able to study, go to work and work out. I still have pain everyday, but not as worse as it was.

How's your health at the moment? Do you work out aswell?

I've lived with Crohns for 26 years and on medication. Currently training on the PHUL system finding it hard to keep the energy going towards the end of the week. Looking at Ostarine and GW cycle in the future.

Thanks! I have followed your log, but I couldn't find anything about your daily calories (or excuse me if I overlooked). So what did your macros look like?
I eat fairly clean, so I did not track my diet throughout the cycle. I just tracked it for a few days to see how many calories I was consuming. My maintenance is about 2500 calories and on average I was right around that value, with some days slightly over and some days slightly below. However I found that I did better by staying slightly below.
Also, I am borderline hypoglycemic. After I stopped using sugar I started getting headaches in the mid afternoon. I got tests done and found that my blood sugars would crash. A little bit of research and I found that other people that had switched to Splenda were having the same symptoms. Once I stopped using Splenda, everything went back to normal. I still don't use sugar in tea and don't drink sodas, etc. but being strict with consuming as little sugar as possible does not work that well for me.

Had a good workout, strength seems to climb a bit, although I can not say this is because of the Ostarine, I simply had very painfull knees, which seem to be improving last weeks.

So far no real signs of Ostarine I think, but I like how my workouts are going at the moment. Am curious about what next week will bring me.

Day 5 of Ostarine 20MG

Had a good training yesterday, I did Biceps, Triceps & Abs. Hit PR's on some lifts. My bodyweight is also up by a good pound. I still can't really link this to Ostarine, because im sitting around 3200kcals these past 5 days, after a deficit for 2 months before that!

Day 6 of Ostarine 20 Mg

Up by 3 pounds sinds last week. Will adjust my diet a bit, because I gain weight to fast at this rate.
However, I had a bad Shoulder & Triceps workout. My strength was down compared to last shoulder workout 8 days ago, and thats weird considering that workout was after a night of heavy drinking!

It might be due to overburdening, I also did close grip bench press two days ago, I can't explain it otherwise.. or maybe I just had a bad day!
Or does anyone else have a explanation for this?

Tommorow I will do Back & Biceps, will smash that one for sure!

I have no AI on hand. If I see symptoms of gyno Im going into PCT and take nolvadex, because the benefits of ostarine wouldnt be enough to cope with gyno imo.

Did Chest and Triceps today instead of Back & Biceps because I felt like it. I will do Back & Biceps tommorow.
Have mixed feelings about this workout, strength did not really increase and I did less volume than last workout. Weird because im eating more, hitting 3100 kcals a day with 200gr's of protein, and including the Ostarine I expected a little more! But hey, it's only day 8 so the Ostarine has probably not kicked in yet.

Day 9 of Ostarine, 20 MG

Had an awesome Back & Biceps workout! Hit absolute PR's on every set of my pullups. Even had a bit of energy left to best my hammer curl reps from last workout. I always strive to do more reps or weight than the workout a week before. If I continue this way, I might be doing weighted wide grip pull ups in March :hammer:, which I don't see a lot of guys do in my gym that are 190+ lbs ! Weight this morning was still the same, 194.7, and have been eating at maintenance, which is around 3100 kcal.

Day 13 of Ostarine, 20 mg

Had a good workout! Because I had some stress last friday, my bowels got up set and I couldnt make it to the gym. I planned leg day, so I had to do it today. I did Legs & Shoulders today. Increased strength a bit in some of the leg exercises, which is nice. My shoulder strength was a tiny bit down, but thats to be expected after blasting legs..

Once again a very good workout! Increased my volume a bit, and had a lot of energy! Also, the strength is up a bit. I weighed in at 195,5 this morning. This means im eating at maintenance at the moment, because im not gaining or losing any weight. I hope to see some abs at this point, lets see what the coming 4 weeks will bring me.

Day 17 of Ostarine, 20 MG

Had another great workout! Did Triceps & Biceps & Calves & Core today. I did the exact same amount of reps on the close grip benchpress today as 2 weeks ago, but today was much easier! I didnt had a spotter so I didnt push reps. I did however add an extra set of 10 reps on the weighted dips, so I increased volume. Biceps only increased with a rep or two, so not much strength, but hey, can't expect to add on every exercise when your not eating in a surplus! Arms definitely looked fuller compared to two weeks ago, arms are the only musclegroup I can spot minor improvements on over time, because I never wear tanktops in the gym.

Another e****lent workout! Definitely increased strength for the 3rd consecutive time with Back & Biceps. Am really impressed with my progress on the pullups.So far so good, no sides yet at the moment. However, I'm not really getting any leaner, so I decided to drop the calories by another 100. Im aiming at +-2600 at the moment.

Thanks man, good to hear. Im impressed with the strength gain, because im really eating a lot less than when im bulking. I bulked at 3600+ kcal last year. I can only imagine the strength gains when eating at a big surplus with this stuff or LGD! My goal at the start of this cycle was seeing my abs, so that will be my focus For now, in afraid I have to drop calories a bit or just do more cardio!

Forgot to weigh myself this morning Unclesarm, will do tommorow! But im sure my weight is already down. I was very tired today, and when I finally got home this evening I hesitated to workout. I did it however and it was a decent workout nonetheless. Did legs, abs and a couple of pullups at the end! Am getting a good night of sleep, because im free tommorow and will make sure to smash Chest & Shoulders tommorow.

Day 23 of Ostarine, 20 MG

Weighed myself this morning, but I found out that theres a 5 pound difference between when I put the scale on the bathroom floor or the carpet!? I will weigh myself on the bathroom floor from now on, because it's more stable. I weighed in at 196.8 this morning.

Did upper chest, shoulders and obliques. Strength was there but I dont like doing chest and shoulders at the same time, because Id hurt my shoulders quick. I decided to go into higher rep ranges (12+).

Tommorow will be Biceps & Triceps & Forearms, one of my favorite workouts!

Had a good workout I guess! :D Did weighted pullups for the first time in my life, so less reps than last week ofcourse, but 8 reps for 3 sets is okay for me!
Started with a 11lbs plate. My Facepull set was legendary though!

Day 28 of Ostarine, 20mg

Weighed myself this morning, and it said 193 lbs. Last time I weighed was 5 days, ago, and I was 196,8 by then. Is my scale ****ed up? Because losing weight at this rate is not good. I aim at 1lbs a week. I will weigh myself in about 3 days again, I sincerely believe my scale is broke though!

I know a few women who would pay good money for that scale!

Keep in mind that your weight might fluctuate based on time of day and activities performed (meal, nature call, etc.).

Thats why I always weigh on an empty stomach, right after a toiletbreak just after I get up. Im seeing some improvements tho, getting leaner, but I dont want to go to fast so I hope the scale will help me out!

Day 30 of Ostarine, 20 mg

This stuff really starts to shine at this point. I upped the cardio a bit, so Im definitely in quite a kcal deficit at the moment, but still building strength! Forgot to weigh again, will do it tommorow for sure. I even see some abs coming through!

I did legs yesterday and added a few reps. Today, I did a bit of incline chest, shoulders and abs. I pressed 80 on the incline dumbell press, which is not bad for me considering my incline was really lagging behind. Im catching up now!

Weighed myself this morning at 189, lowest ive been in a long time.. although I definitely see results, getting leaner and increasing strength, I have to slow down a bit. I'm obviously not an experienced cutter, the ideal rate for me would be 1lbs a week I guess. Some weeks I cycle to college 4 days a week, and some weeks I don't, I have to be more consistent to manage my TDEE.

I wouldn't give too much importance to an individual weighing. I record my weight each week then look at the trend. You will have anomalous reading that show extra high or extra low, but that can be influenced by so many things.

Day 35 of Ostarine, 20 MG

So far no sides! So thats really good. I ate a bit too much these last three days, but that's mainly because I'm a bit hesitating whether I should continue this cut or just go for a bulk. Cutting in PCT is something that's not advised, so thats probably whats keeping me from cutting in this last week. The other thing is, that its only March, and I rather be cut in june, when the weather is nice and all and I'm more outside! I definitely saw my abs last week, while improving my stregth, which proves Ostarine is really working for me! I'm happy about that, and will probably use it again when I go for a good cut in +- May for the summer season. I will measure myself next week, so see how much they changed!
