preventing (or minimizing) hairloss on cycle?

ok here it goes. i am planning my first AAS cycle for this coming fall (thinkin test/var or test/tbol). genetics wise, im pre disposed to MPB (dad, grampa etc) amd ive experienced some pretty badd shedding on previous PH cycles, worst of course being SD. nizoral 1% shampoo EOD or even E3D really seemed to lock it in tho, and shedding was MUCH less. i dont want to take any chances on this next cycle so ive looked into finasteride (only while on gear) and ive read a lot of people (hairloss pateints, NOT AAS users) complaining about a horrible shedding phase that makes them actually loose hair much faster than befor they started. my question is if i start the finasteride 5-7 days befor cycle, and use for the duration of, will that dreaded "shedding phase" effect me? heard similar complaints about minoxidil. id love to hear what you guys have to say. thanks
