    Injury after Blue Gene cycle

I did a 2 month Blue Gene cycle and love it. I am now finishing up a two week break and going to do another two bottles starting on the 9th.

since i stopped using it i have been experiencing some discomfort in my right shoulder dead smack in the middle of the notch of my delt. I decided to take a week off from lifting and just focus mainly on my cardio and here i am still with pain/soreness in the shoulder. I started lifting today again (chest) and had to go light so i didn't agrivate the shoulder.

Is there something in Blue Gene that was maybe masking this? I know it has cissus in it but didn't think i would notice this much difference without it.

For the record I really love this stuff, I especially love the boost in libido and the fact that there is no anxiety/depression asociated with it post use.

    My stack is:
    WF
    GM
    OT
    Glycegrow
    PW

    ON Casein/Whey

    Thanks for any help.

First of all, great stack!!! I'm glad your loving the Blue GENE, especially the boost in libido and the anxiety.

How long since you stopped using it did you experience the pain???

There is a possibility the Cissus could've been helping it. There is a good amount of cissus in BG. THe other possibility is maybe you injured yourself around the same time you stopped BG, making it seem like the Blue Gene was taking care of it?

I'll be interested to see what happens when you start your next cycle...!

I doubt cissus will mask that kind of pain. I have the same problem and the best solution is to lift around it imo.

Blue Gene wouldn't directly cause that and many times, a pain that becomes chronic isn't always, sharp, pain on the spot type injuries. Many low back and shoulder injuries are masked by the elevated amount of circulating blood around the working muscle and the pain sets in hours later or up to the next two days.

is the pain in the joint or in the muscle? Is it sharp or numbing pain?

    Thanks for the reply's.

First off i noticed the pain/soreness after my cycle, aprox 3-5 days after. I did 5 a day up until the last 10 days then went 4 pills, 3 pills 2 pills, 1 pill over the course of those 10 days.

About 35-40 days ago I was doing shoulders. I was on my second set of dumbell press's (100's) and some old dude walked by me and bumped the dumbell right as i was throwing them up for the first rep, I got pissed and just dropped them and walked away. I do remember my right arm going back a bit too far when he bumped me but no pain at the time, i was just pissed at the inconsideration. Maybe that was it?

The pain is probably better described as soreness but to a point that it breaks my focus during chest day and obviously shoulder day. The soreness seems to be more pinpoint than anything. If you lift your right arm straight out to your side, with your left hand grab your right delt and jam your thumb right in the little V notch that forms on your shoulder. If you stick your thumb on that spot and move it around that's the spot. So I'm not sure if it's muscle or ligiment or tendon or the joint, it's really tough to diagnose.

I am at the point I am just going to work around it, but my chest development and lagging shoulders are going to suffer for it.

I am starting BG again on Monday, I am very curious to see if it does anything to the shoulder pain after a few days. I actually hope it dosent because if it does that means I'm maybe masking a deep injury and progressivly making it worse. This sucks, injuries suck.

Sorry to hear about it bro. Maybe you could take some time off and let it heal?

Although I'm curious as to the Cissus + joint formula in OT would take care of it...

Personally I would take a little bit of time and see if it heals. Just to be on the safe side. Or work around it...

    Good idea man .

I got 2 half sleeves myself, it's a great time to focus on legs which most people neglect.

If this occurred 35-40 days ago, its most likely more then just a muscle strain, though it still could be if you never really gave it time to heal with continued heavy lifting, but we all do it. If you hold a 5lbs plate in your hand and rotate the injured shoulder for 40-50 reps, you're only trying to flood your delts with blood. If after your delts are extremely pumped with blood and the pain doesn't subside much, then its almost certainly more then just a muscle issue. Maybe a pulled tendon or cartilage, especially from the situation you described with the guy bumping you with 100's in your hands. That said, if the pain doesn't limit your ROM by force and its more just a discomfort, then that's a sign that it's not that serious. Taking some time to let it recover is a good idea, but I'd also add holding 5's or 2.5's and rotating that shoulder for a good 5-10 min whenever you go to the gym. Loading that area with blood will help in the recovery process.

Woaahh buddy hold up a minute. Shoulder injuries are serious. Even if they are little, don't be doing movements that strain whatever's bothering you. Get in to see a doc just so you're cleared. Fish oil is an anti inflammatory, and cissus helps too. But it will not completely mask the pain if it is something serious.

I had the same pain in my shoulder when doing chest. Basically most pressing exercises. A local surgeon said he thought it was a torn labrum. It turned out to not be a tear, but rather scalpular dysfunction (i am pronated forwards just slightly, caused my working on pressing movements harder than pull movements). Be sure that your routine is not putting too much emphasis on push in comparison to pull. Once your shoulders arent as sore, try stretching them more, do face pulls with a tricep rope, work your rear delts and make sure to include something to fight inflammation. Just my .02

I will def take this advise. Thank you guys for the response. I'm going to see the DOC this week anyway for my annual physical, I will discuss this with him as well.

Can anyone reccomend a good fish oil? Maybe it's time i introduce it into my regimen.

    Thanks again

    //edit//

You know come to think of it, i have been also dealing with some brachialis pain as well that seemed to show it's face around the same time as the shoulder. This pain is not as bad and can pretty easily work through it. I have had it before and just thought i was maybe overtraining and the pain subsided in time.

My diet lately has been pretty week sauce as well as i have been trying to cut so I am not consuming nearly enough calories daily especially carbs! this may have an effect as well.

Since you have a nice CL stack to begin with, you can check out the Orange OxiMega formula. It's very high quality omega-3's, and they taste like oranges, instead of fishies

If it's not affecting your range of motion, AND you can work through it--perhaps its just a muscle tear. Those can be a ***** to heal sometimes.

At least your going to your doc's soon. Diet may have something to do with it... reevaluate your diet, and include some omega 3's in it... then see what the doc has to say about your shoulder

    ^^^This.

Plus they just released third party testing results for heavy metal content and it passed with flying colors. First fish oil I've been able to use consistently.

Sweet, I bought GNC stuff in a hurry and bringing it back today, Garbage!

CL does it again I guess.

Went to the Doc today and we think it's more joint than muscle. He wants me to lay off for another week before i go back and if it's the same he will send me out to a specialist.

I started Blue gene again 1 day early (Sunday the 8th). I figured i weened myself off last cycle so it shouldn't be a big deal. This morning i did back at the gym, and after stretching and warming the shoulder for 20 min I had a great WO. Shoulder feels good right now, soreness is there but it feels to be a little less. Placebo maybe, cissus? more probable. I am still going to lay off the push exersise's for a bit.

Well I have been going very light all week and working around the pain. Did legs twice this week lol. Still the soreness is still there. I am going off shore tommorrow until next Saturday so I will be limited to just a bowflex and TRX for workouts, lol space is very limited. This may be good though so we'll see how it feels when i come back, if it's still there, back to the doc i go.

Yeah that may be a blessing in disguise, maybe some "forced" time off is what you need. Sorry to hear the pain is still there though

Well the pain is still there but definetley reduced, it almost feels as if it's slowly getting better. I will continue to monitor it and work around it with lighter weight. I am now on day 14 of BG and day 10 since I added Cissus and Fish oil. That may have something to do with it, not sure. I still feel it mainly on pressing movements especially bench press, so I have switched to machine work for shoulders and chest which sucks but may also be contributing to the healing process.
