Why I Lift
31 years ago I was 25 years old weighed 235lbs and was 5’6” tall I smoked did not work out and was Fat! My wife was pregnant with our daughter and I decided I need to make a change in my life. Over the next 9 months I lost 85lbs quit smoking and started lifting, doing cardio and eating clean. It was a complete life style change that I still follow today.
Current
I am a male 56 years old, weight 180lbs at 5’5” tall. Have visible abs and am as lean as I have ever been.

I lift because of how poorly I performed in high school and college sports. I got by on "talent" and not hard work and discipline and paid the price through injuries left and right. I wont ever go back to that again and am constantly tweaking my goals and ambitions towards a stronger and more sound life. Lifting improves every asset of life for me and I love it!

Exactly how i got started into lifting was football
Being a very overweight high school lineman, Tore my MCL my senior year, continued to lift via Rehab and fell in love with weightlifting as my only hobby while recovering, and then pursued bodybuilding.

Overweight through hs seems to be a common theme among a lot of us here, myself included. I've always struggled with physical self image and lifting and being in shape truly does change you for the better.

What no protein? The reason I lift is for health and to keep my strength as I age. If old guys were strong they wouldn't have to worry about falling so much. Health problems in my family include heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and strokes. I'm really pretty disgusted with body building and have turned more towards strength training this past year.
The protein is as cheap price per serving as you can find on the market for a legit product.
A win if you ask me.

I lift to focus on my goals of increasing size and strength compete in another national level show as a middleweight. I need to add some size to my frame as the judges told me my conditioning was the best in my class at Collegiate Nationals.

I lift to get ahead of my familial health concerns...
Moms side: grandma died of diabetes at 50
Dad's side: grandpa has had 2 heart attacks and maultiple cardiac surgeries (his brothers had 5 and 6 as well as multiple bypass surgeries between them), grandma has very high cholesterol, uncle had cancer (beat it) as well as a b12 deficiency (gets regular shots).

I lift because I was a fat kid who was out of shape and teased because I was flabby and soft looking. I was called pigeon tits by some jerk as his girlfriend snickered as they walked past me. I didn't do it for health. I lifted so assailed and pieces of **** didn't mess with me. But at age 43, I lift cause I love the feeling of power and personal accomplishment. I could care less how I look now.

That is exactly another reason for me as well. People have different outlets; some smoke, drink, shop, etc. to de-stress. Lifting is what helps me through my stress

I lift to so when I see my family I'm not the chubby one. Also so when my daughter grows up I won't be aching in pain or to out of shape to enjoy sports with her.

Bingo. Usually my kids are awesome, we all have bad days, we are human, we make mistakes, and we live and learn off mistakes or things that go wrong.
Sometimes we have a stressful morning, sometimes we do not sleep well. The weightroom is a way for me to engage my thoughts and actions on a hobby I enjoy. Hence why i enjoy lifting.

That's why I get grumpy when I can't train for an extended period of time!

I come back stronger, and the rest of shows my body i needed time off to continue to improve!

Not sure why the vanilla is $32 and the others are the lower $21. Anyone know why? Or has that been corrected...

I lift to clear my mind. When I'm in the gym that's the only thing on my mind and everything is just simple. I love the feeling of total control and just knowing exactly what to do when i'm there. It's a great break from the hectic hustle of everyday life.
