Salacia Reticulata Extract contains the active compounds Mangiferin, Kotalanol, and Salacinol that act as a PPARα agonist and PPARγ partial agonists; these antagonists thwart postprandial hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, and hepatic steatosis in type 2 diabetics and obese subjects [6, 7]. PPARa, located in skeletal muscle and liver tissue, is responsible for transport/usage of fatty acids to fuel bodily processes. By down-regulating apolipoprotein C-III, PPARα inhibits lipid hydrolysis and boosts lipid oxidation. Somewhat similarly, PPARγ mediates the genes responsible for fatty acid uptake, fasted regulation of beta/gamma oxidation, and amplified fat oxidation. Mangiferin elevates Glut-4 without exercise and supports rapid muscular glycogen uptake.*
Gymnema Sylvestre 75% Gymnemic Acids is clinically proven to dramatically lower HbA1c, fasting blood glucose, and postprandial glucose levels [8]. Capsicium Annum 8% Capsaicinoids increases energy expenditure and metabolic rate through multiple pathways [21, 22]. Studies claim, “capsaicin also inhibited the expression of PPARγ, C/EBPα, and leptin, but induced up-regulation of adiponectin at the protein level. These results demonstrate that capsaicin efficiently induces apoptosis and inhibits adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes and adipocytes” [23]. PPARγ modulation causes the bulk of adipose loss to be exhibited on ugly abdominal fat stores [24].
Evodiamine is an essential new addition to the re-formulated AAv2. Couple this mechanism of action with Kaempferol’s known capacity to regulate D2-mediated thyroid activity (T3 production), and the result is truly astounding cumulative 2+2=5 fat-burning potential [32].

Cortisol & Its Effects on Body-Composition – Further Elaboration:
Cortisol is produced by the adrenal glands, and is considered to be a stress hormone. When the body is under stress (either physical or psychological), it produces excess cortisol to try to help combat the stress. The body's way of helping to combat the stressors is by liberating energy stores. Cortisol assists in that process by breaking down muscle protein into amino acids and stored fat into fatty acids as fuel sources for the body. This process is detrimental to overall body composition because it translates into increased fat storage and decreased lean muscle tissue.
Cortisol's Detrimental Effect on Lean Muscle:
Cortisol breaks down muscle protein into amino acids for use as a fuel source – in laymen's terms this means that cortisol breaks down your muscle tissue. By helping suppress cortisol levels, it is likely that one can keep more of their hard earned gains.
Cortisol's Effect on Fat Storage:
Cortisol assists in breaking down stored body-fat into fatty acids so that the body can have an immediate energy source to help combat the stressors. This at first sounds like a good thing, but the long term effect of this action is these fatty acids being stored as the most easily accessible type of body-fat for the same future use, visceral fat. Visceral fat is the type of fat that is located around the internal organs; it is also the type of fat most closely associated with a variety of health conditions including heart disease.
