So I kind of like fasting for losing weight. Moreso then any other method of calorie counting or carb manipulation.

However, when listening to Iron Radio podcast, they referenced a study that said that as much as 30 grams of protien halted lipolysis.
Unfortunately, this was 6 months ago and I have not been able to find the study they referenced, or any others on protien only fasts.

Could Jamie or somebody else comment on the efficacy of the POF (Protein only fast) as opposed to a 0 calorie fast?
There is a lot of information out there on Keto, and fasting, but not a protein only fast.

I found a lot on the PSMF (protein sparing modified fast), but most people include fat and greens in that, and one would think that introducing any fat or carbs would turn it into a different animal.

Further, many of the Keto resources ive read say that prioritizing protein over fat actually increases muscle catabolism as it teaches the body to use protein as fuel via gluconeogenesis.
I think that is normally overblown, but if lipolysis stops when only protein is ingested, might that be what is happening?

A true PSMF is low fat and low carb. Its exactly what you're talking about here as almost 100% protein. Obviously you'll always have some trace carbs and fats but you can severely limit these. Some of the shake-only PSMF type diets (Velocity diet IIRC?) are basically this.

Googled it? I'm not actually reading this, I'm just copy/pasting.

As for PSMF vs a fast, I think the two main differences are that PSMF doesn't make you hungry and you've got protein to make muscles with. The fatloss is the same, iirc.
