  1. Where would you set my macros? Lost weight on 3900 cals and 500 carbs!!!


    So I’m bulking and need to gain weight each week. I just weighed in and reviewed my. Numbers for this past week. My macros for carbs and cals per day were 496 and 3829. I am a pound lighter than I was last Wednesday. What numbers should I focus on for this week if you were to set them?


  2. I would focus on lightening up a little.

    1 pound difference measured either way in 1 week is virtually meaningless. Its the long term trend that matters. My weight can fluctuate 2-3 lbs day to day. If you weighed yourself every day for a week, then weighed yourself every day the next, and compared the average of week 1 to the average of week 2 it means a little more.

    So give it another week or two and see where you are then.

  3. Dude how big are you? And did you reverse diet / increase your calories by x a week until you gained weight, to get to 3829?

    Given that you're at 500 carbs already, I think you're likely to be better off considering increasing your protein intake . What are macros atm?

  4. Interested to hear what your macros are. That's a lot of food! If you're hitting the 1g per pound of protein intake then I would focus on upping fats and carbs until you begin to see the scale move. What are your stats?

    Macros right now are set at 100 fats, 500 carbs and 250-260 grams of protein per day. Honestly I could easily eat way more. I feel hungry many times during the day where I hold myself back because I have to eat every 2-3 hours and right now my coach has me staying around 4000 cals a day. I could eat double what I am eating easily, thats how strong my appetite is but that would up my carbs fats and protein to insane levels. I have heard of some guys taking in as many as 1000 grams of carbs in the offseason but that probably would be overload.

  7. If you are a pound lighter, you would need an extra 3,500 cals, in theory. However, you need to keep in mind that your particular weigh in will take other variables into consideration. Did you use the bathroom prior to weighing in this week versus last week? Did you consume more food in the start of the day? Did you drink more or less water? Were you more active, even walking more at work? All of these factors can change weekly and the day prior to your weigh in. I would increase your calories by 500 and see what happens next week.

    I weighed myself this morning and I am the exact same weight I was on Wednesday. Seems to me calories need to be increased like you said. So I'll be taking in around 4400 a day if in fact my weight is the same on Wednesday of next week. Lots of food but Im a pretty tall man so my size needs them.
